In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.
Love and blessings

Addressing all the others posts here, beware of Satan, for he is very powerful:
"For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible." (Matthew 24:24, NIV)
It is naive, possibly dangerous, to think Satan can't perform miracles. What has he done today? I think everyone will have a different interpretation. Many ostensibly great things have resulted horribly, and I imagine Satan was behind those, either directly or indirectly.

Jesus isn't a experienced seal. He would not do parlor hints. he's now the 2nd maximum useful rigidity in all of existence. 2nd in straightforward terms to his Father. Even the terrific available ingredient to get, it quite is God's heavenly Kingdom government that he's its King, ought to are available in his Father's very own due time---no longer our very own human timing. the reason being that we don't know what number extra suitable lives it may value if that Kingdom began ruling Earth early. The Bible shows God has allowed time for people who gets out of fake faith and into his place of protection. every time he has destroyed something, God has executed this possibility to proceed to exist. If it had come fifty years in the past, what number truthful ones of at the instant does no longer be alive? extra suitable to consistently pray for and help that Kingdom in God's very own time.

Read John 10:10 - "The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But I have come to give life in all its fullness." Satan is the thief, all he will do in your life is steal, kill and destroy His "miracles" are not real, they only lead you away from the One True God. Jesus Christ is the one who came to give fullness of life. Jesus is the only true one, He does true miracles, He can heal you...set you free from tormet...any thing you need turn to Him and ask. Jesus is there waiting for you. Satan leads to death, Jesus leads to true ever lasting life.
