You can use french braids for that. Otherwise another quick and easy way without having to braid is using hot rollers, most of the ones they make now only take ten minutes and work awesome. That's what I use, because my hair is also long and straight.

Since you have straight hair, and it's quite long, I would recommend tight French braids.
If you want to enhance the look, try showering, and apllying mousse to your damp hair. Afterward, French braid it and if you wish you can spray some stiffing gel, or something to hold your hair. The longer you leave the braids in the more wavy your hair will appear.

do a part down the middle then french braid both sides. it looks really cute so you can have it in the french braids during the day and take it out at night so you have pretty hair. then use a lot of hairspray or mousse.

When it's wet, comb it, put some mousse in (I love garnier mousses!)and french braid. The wavier you want it, the more braids you should do. Let dry, by blow dryer or overnight, and sleep in them anyway. Take out the braids in the morning and run your fingers through your hair (do not brush) and dry some more if necessary. Congrats, you now have waves that are tres belle!

If you want lots of volume and don't mind small waves, use about ten, close to your head braids.

braid your hair immediately after a hair wash ....
keep them for 15-20 minutes...
then gently take them off...
you will have wavy hair for a couple of hours....
