The record of the felony is within the state only but if other states request for a record of a person, the list is shared.

The justice system is so screwed up! How do they want you to do anything better with your life if they brand you like a damn animal if you make a mistake. Some things rape or murder is understandable for that person's record to follow them, but there are many felonies that aren't even close to being serious. But to answer your question, yes, your record goes wherever you go. If you are trying to get a job and they do a statewide search and you committed the felony in another state, then you will be okay. If they do a nationwide search...which is very possible with a lot jobs....well then it will show up.

A felony is a Federal offense. That means the big FBI is gonna watch you for the rest of your life, as long as you live in this country (that means all 50 states and all the territories). Also, because you have a FELONY charge on you, most countries won't let you legally move there. (Why the **** would they want a criminal?)
