Yes this does sound like ocd. See a doc in your area they can help. There are some med's that can help. And one of the things that can really help is to change one behaviour. I know it is the hardest thing to do. But take it slowly, baby steps. Every journey starts with just one step.
hang in there

okay listen to me, I am not going to say you are OCD yet, you have OCD tendancies the way you describe your actions, but I don't think you really are OCD. You want to know why? What I am hearing from you is how much you don't like yourself. You are trying to fix your looks constantly, and you are obsessed with how ugly you THINK you are, and trying to make yourself better and it probably goes a lot deeper than your looks.
Let me tell you a little something, I felt ugly until I was twenty two, I was depressed for about 5 years and thought the world would be better without me.
when i was 22 I woke up and realized God doesn't make mistakes. I am fearfully and wonderfully made, He put me together in my mothers womb. I wasn't a mistake! Everyday I started feeling better and better about me and I started seeing how my confidence in who I had been made into was effecting others in a positve way. That made it easier. Now I can tell you I am beautiful inside and out. I do not look like a model, but men are attracted to the confidence they see in me.... some are intimidated but that is okay I don't want a wuss! i wish i could send you a picture of me because when i tell my friends now that I used to feel very ugly they are astonished because I always got the compliments I get now about my looks... I just thought people were trying to be nice before.
The difference between you and I is I didn't take it as far as you have. i want you to go talk to someone and get some help. there is a psychologist in your school district, go talk to a counselor ask them to hook you up with some help. Cutting yourself and ripping out your hair is self destructive and dangerous. you are too valuable to do something like that.

It is not an OCD. OCD stands for obsessive compulsive disorder. This is a disorder that compells someone to do something with no apparent reason. (( I knew someone with an OCD who HAD do close a door if he saw one open or ajar, but it wasn't only doors. It was also jars, books, folders, windows, ANYTHING THAT OPENS OR CLOSES.)) Anyway your disorder is CLOSE to OCD, but is based on low self esteem. You want to be pretty, and attractive. You want acceptance from the people around you. Unfortunately you have come across a paradox. The acceptance you long for only comes after you accept yourself.
Seeking professional help isn't a bad idea especially if you have considered or actually tried suicide. The last bit of advice I can give you is this. When you go to bed, say this phrase in your mind over and over and over till you fall asleep. " Wrapping up in my cocoon, I'm going to be a butterfly soon". It may also help you get through the tough times during the day as well.

I am not sure if you are joking or not. If you are serious, please see a doctor about it. I take Paxil for obsessive, intrusive thoughts and it has changed my life. I don't want to be a pusher by any means, and I am not saying it's for everyone, but it definitely worked for me.
Let your doctor know about your rituals.
Maybe on top of the ocd you have some vanity issues.
I hope and pray you get the help you need. There is so much greatness to live for!!!!

Don't kill yourself hun, everyone has OCD in some form. Yeah it does seem like you do have OCD although I've never really had it as much as you so I can't give that much advice, but don't think you're the only one like this. Maybe try an OCD support fourm or something if they even have those.

It seems to fit the DSM-IV criteria for OCD (http://www.biologicalunhappiness.com/DSM-OCD.htm) which is used by clinicians and practitioners to diagnose patients. However, it cannot be confirmed unless you see a practitioner. I encourage you to consider scheduling an appointment with a mental health professional so that you can work on these and I hope you don't get discouraged if things don't work right away...it takes some time to work on these things. :)

VERY possible. Are you seeing a psychiatrist? The doc may be able to prescribe you something to help with this. Sometimes, they give a prescription for Paxil which helps with OCD and anxiety together. It may have some anti depressant qualities to it also. Let your PCP know what's going on. He may be able to help you with a referral or he may write you a 'script. Good luck.

First of all, there is no reason for anyone to kill theirself, unless they are a child pervert... I do think you need to tell someone close to you like in your family that you need help. I also think that you need to be told more in your life that you are beautiful. You are a creation of God and you have a soul purpose in this life. Thats what I think is beautiful about you and you deserve to be told that. So please don't be so hard on yourself, have mind control and believe that you are clean and beautiful. You need to sit in a quiet calm room, maybe light some candles, and focuse on things that you like about yourself.... the way you smile, the color of your hair, the color of your eyes, the shape of your lips. I know there is something you like about yourself because YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!
