Please check www.petfinder.org for a new pet. They are a search engine of shelters and rescue groups. Rescue pets generally have all their medical work done including spaying/neutering surgeries, a necessary procedure. They are typically priced much lower than pet stores or breeders sell them for. What a deal!

it depends on the expected size/weight. The smaller, the more expensive. I was looking for a yorkie last year, and for a teacup (3 or 4 lbs, i think)... a nice one... it's over 1000 (at the VERY LEAST), I think 1500 is a good price. The bigger yorkies are about 1000 and under.

I have seen them going for about $350-$2000 in the Midwest, mainly depending on how big they will get. I have seen one that was bought for $100, but at 10 months he will 17 lbs. Most Yorkies are 2-7 lbs as adults.

I have seen some prices on the internet for Yorkies that made me cringe. Like to the tune of $3000.00. Holy cow! I have bought cars for cheaper than that.

I had several Yorkie litters over the years and never sold a puppy for more than $100.00. Now how dumb was I?

I have heard you can get them in pet stores for about $700.00. They are great little dogs. I still have the old, old mama Yorkie and one of her pups (who is now old too).

Did you realize that they are non-shedding dogs? They are also highly intelligent.
