We are bethrothed, and she is a virgin, but she was visited by a person who told her she shall give birth to a baby boy, but she is still a virgin, and his name will be Immanuel, and he is the son of God. She doesn't want me to touch her for the next nine months, and we must now make a very long trip to Bethlaham.

You see. It sounds ridiculus.

Ridiculous , of course, thats the miracle of Christmas that two people accepted a situation from God that no one in their right minds would believe. That faith and acceptance of Gods will is the true miracle. Joseph loving Mary and God enough to say yes to all of this in a time when a man would NEVER EVER accept it, and then raising a child that wasnt his is more of the Christmas miracle than the star and the wisemen etc. Oh to have that unfaultering faith, to be given that miracle of acceptance, it would not happen in this day and age and it remains extraordinary.

It does as you make fun of it, but you were not there and do not know the circumstances.

What if your fiance'/girlfriend told you she was pregnant but had not had sex. Of course you would not believe her. It does happen these days commonly through invitro fertilization, but of course that did not happen 2000 years ago. Or perhaps the entity that created the universe had such powers? Ahh, you don;t believe in that either? You would rather believe that all this structure, even the existance of intelligent humans was a pure accident. That the miracle of birth, the joining of two cells with the encoding of all the biological data needed to automatically construct a human, is merely a fluke of nature. OK...now that sounds ridiculous to me.

Hmm...people wrote about it 500 years before it happened. A jewish historian named Josephus wrote that Mary must have gotten pregnant from a Roman soldier because everybody knew the baby wasn't her fiance's. Her fiance still decided to marry her even though it could mean tremendous disgrace to him and his family. Why? Why go through with it if there weren't something to it?

And as for you... Why make fun of something you have obviously never studied or tried to understand? It really upsets me when people come on here and make fun of religions they don't believe in. It's rude and disrespectful. When you've read it, studied the history, artifacts, and everything behind each religion, then and only then do you have a right to talk about what someone believes.

What seems to be so extraordinary? I know that I've heard this somewhere else, but just can't seem to put my finger on it right now.

Hope that you have a good laugh with my answer.

MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Have a lovely blessed rest of the evening.

And I must now say don't make fun! It's blasphemous! There is only one person in all of eternity who has ever or will ever give birth as a virgin, and that is Mary. Immanuel came down to save our soul, so DON'T make fun!!!!!!! And it's spelled Bethlehem!!!!!!!

that must be some potent sperm you got there buddy! I mean, you didn't even have to touch her and viola, she's knocked up - I wonder if she will have to physically give birth or if one day the baby will just appear, crazy...

Yeah, but who'll end up looking like the silly one if he _doesn't_ book a manger, just in case?
