Who LIKES a long distance relationship? Does it even work?

It depends on both parties. If it isn't TOO long (no more than a couple of years) and they are both committed to each other and ok with not seeing each other for a long period of time, then it's fine.

It's absolutely horrible and I hate it with all the passion in my soul. I thought I'd be able to do it, but the way things stand right now, my long distance relationship will last about another week.
I cry myself to sleep some nights and even though I have all this pain, it's still easier to try to make it work than to lose him altogether. I guess that's why people enter into long distance relationships in the first place.
I read this thing once where someone was like, "abscene is to love what wind is to fire; it extinguises the small and kindles the great." All I can say is the bastard who said that has never been in a long-term long distance relationship.

I tried it once, and it didn't work. I actually believed that it would, but it ended after a few months of e-mails and cell phone calls. Something was just lacking - like physical contact. Thanks for the Christmas wishes, and I hope yours was happy. Best to you in 2007.

I've tried it more than once and it didnt work....I like to hold and be held and crave that physical relationship that is missing in a long distance relationship
