I would take the pins...
No matter how long you have to get used to it, high pitch is constant. The pins and needles would lesen as your body becomes " used " to them. Kind of like people who have back problems or other aches. The do not necessarily go away; you learn to live with them.

Pins and needles. I would go crazy with the ringing, I could get used to the pins and needles.

Lesser of the two evils you listed, I would go with the pins and needles.

it would be easier to have permanent pins & needles in your feet than to have that 'beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep' sound.
having that beep stuck in your ears would distract you and disturb your sense of balace.

I already have the constant high pitch sound in my ears. Doesn't bother me unless someone mentions it (thanks).
So I pick that high pitch beeeeeep sound.
