I am getting my first tattoo and it's just going to be my nickname or a rose and I am getting it on the outside of my right leg near the bottom, a few inches above my ankle but not on the anke if that makes any since. I heard tattoos hurt more when their on the bone so it's not going to be on the bone. Has anyone had a tattoo in this spot and how bad did it hurt.

I got my first tattoo exactly where you are describing. I got a rose with my sons name above it. I heard the closer you are to your ankle the more it hurts. My tattoo is about 2 inches above my ankle. It didnt hurt, just a weird sensation. So go for it =)

How long is a piece of string ? I have tattooed my self around the ankle and can tell you it hurts, as for above the ankle thats going to hurt as well ! Tattoo's hurt period, finito it's just the way it is. Anybody who tries to tell you otherwise is a liar, simple as that. As to how much does it hurt ? Are you the kind of person who nearly passes out during blood tests ? Does the thought of stitches or tetnus shots fill you with fear ? If the answer is yes then it's going to hurt a LOT, Pain is just a psychological reaction to duress. So it's mostly in your mind. The tattooist can control the speed of the gun this has a major effect on the pain level, this is why outlines hurt more than colour or shading because the gun is running faster also the faster the gun is running the louder it is, thus affecting the psycological levels, another point to remember is what muscle is being tattooed I once had my outer arm done and the pain in my back was excruciating, that was the day i discovered that different parts of the body were interconnected by the same muscle's.

Above Ankle Pain

I had a friend get a very large tattoo on the same place on her leg and it was somewhat painful but she just held a magazine in her hands and whenever it hurt really bad she would twist it and that helped a lot. I've heard a lot of different responses about the pain of tattoos, i think the amount of pain varies a lot from person to person.

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.

So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.

Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.

A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.

Heal your ankle fully & fast?

Yes, I have one on the outside of my right ankle and one on the inside of my left. The one on the outside didn't really hurt that bad, and it's small so it didn't take too long to complete (about 20-25 min.). It kind of feels like scratching, it's more annoying than painful. The one on the inside of my ankle hurt the most ( I have 4 total).

Enjoy the pain. Get the tattoo where you think it would look better. The pain will only last a while and the tattoo will last forever. The more it hurts the more you will love your tattoo... it will be like the baby you had to give birth to.

ok i have a tattoo on the inside of my ankle and it didn't hurt like i thought it would! the issue is you have to use your mind to tell yourself certain things! A couple people told me it hurt like hell but i did it and i was fine! it was more annoying than painful! Mostly because i was expecting out right awful pain, it was ok. So just go do it and see how you take it!

I have a tat where you are talking about. It did hurt, but it was far from unbearable. I've heard that the ankle is one of the least painful spots, but it's the only one I have so that's secondhand. Don't worry about the pain though, because it doesn't take long. Get your tat where it will look best, the pain is temporary but the tat is forever. Bonne chance!
