Once a felon, always a felon. However, many employers only want to know if it was in the last 10 years.

How fair was it to society that you broke the law? You do the crime, you pay the consequences, and that includes being labeled as a felon.

Nevertheless, that is the law as it is based in the Constitution. A felon is considered a felon for life.

How fair is it? How fair was it to the victim of the crime?

I am sorry but it will follow you the rest of your life. You can pay to try to have it exsponsed but it will still always be there in the way the rest of your life. And will always cause you problems. I have been doing alot of things looking into the law and I am learning alot. You can also go to a library and check the law books about it too.

Like for the rest of your life dumb a$$. Now you can never legally own a gun, vote, or join the army. And you're gonna have a hard time trying to get a good job. Makes you think that $80 bucks you got holding up that convenience store just wasn't worth it.

it stays on forever. is that fair? depends on the crime. if you kill a person in the heat of passion i believe that should stay on your record. if you do somehting stupid cause you were drunk like get accused of battery on a police officer when you didnt even comit the crime (an example of a corrupt cop)... then i do not believe it should even stay on your record. felony is a harsh sentence and the courts should redefine the term. some people deserve a second chance. it is not fair in certain cases.

Forever....

Its not fair really, you could kill someone, or steal a car and still be labeled the same.

And the child molesters get away with everything.....

Forever unless you can get a pardon from your governor or the president.
