It seems to me that there are more than a few people on this site who want nothing more than to bash the current administration for going into Iraq, but don't want to contribute to the finding of a solution. While any government cover up needs to be addressed, now is not the time for such discourse. We need to figure out a way to get our troops home safely, but without leaving Iraq to "the wolves."

Personally, I feel more US troops in an advisory position are needed to help the Iraqi force train more troops faster. As these new Iraqi forces become available, the US troops can slowly shed their numbers from active areas of resistance to more remote areas, where they can act as support. The key is getting the new Iraqi forces trained and equipped. Once this has happened, the troops acting as support can concentrate more on the border regions to Syria, Iran, and Saudi Arabia, helping to slow down the foreign elements coming into the country and adding more problems to the sectarian one

i think the iraq report has some merit to it. like telling iraq get themselves in gear. our soldiers can only do so much.
if i come to clean your house, and you aint helping, then something is wrong(i mean physically able to help).
the iraqi people have fought for years(80-89) now why does it seem like they cant secure there own borders.
training iraqi to protect there own country( hands them m-16)
aim, pull trigger its not that hard. iraqi's can shoot to kill,
so let them. our soldiers are the only ones that get screwed for doing there job.
i dont know what the iraqi government is waiting on.
4 years seems long enough to have or get a game plan together.
let the iraqi's do the searching and destroying.
im tired of hearing of our troops getting killed or mamed, let the
iraqi's plus kids(train them too) to protect. shoot first, pray to allah
later.
when saddam was leader everyone fought. iraq needs to get
a draft going or something to enlist more of there own for the
military. it wouldnt hurt for a 2 year service like most countries.

First of all, the "sectarian violence" is an over-promoted propaganda tool to simply encourage it; after all, it's easier if the enemy kills themselves. If you really think that people there don't believe their enemy is the coalition and then have extra time to take the opportunity to fight each other..... well, that really isn't all that realistic.

As far as your initial question: if one proves that it is an illegal war, then this promotes removing the troops faster. How is that done? Like it was done in any other war: The leaders pick a date usually a few days away to complete withdrawal, and pull out. Simple. They leave. "Training" the iraqi troops is really an insult, as though they weren't already fit and up on fighting and strategy. Like they're some rogue group. They were pretty strong and unified until their land and people were bombed to smitherines. This is another example of underestimating the people's capabilities.

As someone pushing to declare Bush illegally started the war, it may be the only way to get the troops out. As long as he is Commander in Chief, he decides when & if they come home. Congress may stop the funds, but can't order the troops home. Only the President can do that. The only way to get rid of a sitting Commander in Chief is to impeach him.

You can us greyhound buses to get the troops out of Iraq, or you can us transport planes, or VW's for that matter. We can afford it.
We have been mislead for almost four years by the Bush Administration and other institutions in America like the intelligence organizations, do we have to continue for another six years to match the war in Vietnam? Do we have to prove our manhood to the people of the world? Do we need to spill enough blood to scare all of our foes, or are we just hell bent on committing suicide with someone Else sons and daughters?
Enough is to much. We need to get out of Iraq as quickly as the Humvee can travel!

becuase the news and political leaders are trying to get our attention away from action and have their own aggendas which do not coincide with the majority of americans. they discuss crap that has been discussed over a million times and still no answer. there is never going to be an answer because people cannot agree. personally i do not agree with the war and i want all of americas sons and daughters to be brought home and protect us where we are needed, here in the US.

Because it is necessary to decide if the war is legit. That has to come first because its pointless to take them out now and then decide what to do.
