I would find out how much it would cost to repair it and also how much it would cost to buy them the same but new watch and see which choice would be a better bet for the money I spend.

I broke a knick knack off a lady's desk at school. I went to the store and bought something to replace it. It said what a special person she was.

Maybe you can let them pick out a new watch in the price range of the broken one! And stop borrowing stuff! They told me a long time ago no to lend anything I couldn't afford to lose!

Tell the person you want to replace it and ask them whether they want you to go buy them one, come with you to replace it or if they have another idea. Be careful you don't get sucked in to paying more than the property was actually worth.

Just tell him/her that you broke it and you are remorseful. You would like to replace the item that you broke. The hardest part is telling the person that you actually broke it. Everything else is easy..

Have you told the other person yet? If no that is your first step. Then offer to replace it. If they say no, stop worrying, if they say yes, then replace it and stop worrying. You'll be okay. It is so much better to be honest.

Be honest about it and pay them for it. Let them pick out their own new watch. Do not be cheap about paying for it, either, especially if it was really nice. If it was really old and beat up, then I would be a little cheaper. Otherwise, just pay up.
