Spend some alone time with him, deep meaningful conversations, if he keeps eye contact with you and it looks like he is really intrested then he may have something for you as well. When you talk see how he reacts, do you 2 have any physical contact, hugging etc. See what happens when you get close to him, if he does what you do, then yes he may have something for you. Then you can progress from there.

Also just don't talk about yourself ask him questions, when he answers does he give a close answer or an open answer that you can both go on talking about.

Also if he is with you see if it looks like his really thinking about something and ask him what his thinking about, if he says nothing then jokingly / light heatedly , say "what you thinking about me" see what he says. Just go from there...

Hold on till you get the absolute answer, IMO I would like to see the girls make the move for a change, I would be honoured if a girl said she liked me first instead of me having to say it first!

Hold on or let go of what?

You say he 'found out' you liked him and now he stares all the time. Maybe he is not sure you really do like him. He is getting this information through a third party. Maybe you should start a conversation with him, or have the person who told him you liked him in the first place ask him what he thinks of you.

Before making any rash decisions, just talk to him. If he takes the bait and seems interested in pursuing something further, then go for it, if not then let him go.
Since you know that he already knows you like him, you could start the conversation out like that.... "Hey, so I know you heard from so-and-so that I kind of liked you... I don't want to put you on the spot, but I was kind of curious about your reaction."

Good luck!

let go... indifference is the strongest emotion you can have when you are interested in someone. let him start to question whether you are still into him, if the rumor was true. let him wonder about you. let him wonder why you arent looking at him all the time, why you arent persuing him. be the girl everyone wants to be friends with. in other words- dont dwell and have fun! he wont be able to help but like you.

LET GO! if he liked you, he would have done something by now, simple!! unless he's one of those shy boys...if you know for sure he's a "shy boy" then he's not gonna make a move - you're gonna have to do it and be the agressive one.

Have you tried actually talking to him yourself? You say he found out, is that because you told him or did he hear it from a friend of a friend's cousin whos dog may have overheard you saying that you liked him? Talk to him yourself or move on.

GROW UP! Let him GO! You are trying to put words in his mouth that may not be there! Just because you want, you don't always get!

You're asking the wrong question... what exactly are you waiting for? Ask him out. Then you'll know.
