This is one of my son's favorites...not IHOP's but delicious!!
Enjoy.

Strawberry/Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast

16 slices of good Cinnamon raisin bread
2 8 oz blocks of cream cheese, softened
1 20 oz can of strawberry pie filling
4 large eggs
1/2 cup cream, half & half or whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 stick of butter cut into 8
Powered sugar for dusting

By hand, in a medium bowl, blend softened cream cheese with pie filling until well blended. Set aside.

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk and vanilla. Set aside.

Generously spread eight slices of the raisin bread with the cream cheese/strawberry mixture, top each with the other 8 slices of bread and press firmly together. Chill toasts for 15 minutes in the refrigerator

Heat a large frying pan to medium high and add 2 pats of butter, swirling pan to cover bottom until melted.

Working with 2 at a time, dip the toasts into your egg batter and add to pan, frying each approximately 2 minutes per side or until golden and crisp. Repeat process with all of the toasts, keeping them warm in a 200 F oven until done.

Serve 2 per person with a dusting of powdered sugar!

I like it too, & found a recipe online & wrote it down & then made it once...but it's a lot of trouble...it's much easier just going to IHOP, haha!

I love them too and wanted to know that myself. I researched and this is the best way I came up with. It's my own version plain & simple. You might need to tweak this to your liking with the sugar amount and amount of egg milk mixture and the choice of fruit topping.
Just use a loaf of french bread.
Slice it about 1 or 1 1/2 inch thick. Cut a slit in the center(like a pocket).
Pint of frozen sweetened strawberries or other fruit banana, blueberry, cherry, apricot etc.
For a whole loaf I'd use about 6 eggs.
3 T sugar (or more if you like it sweeter)
about 1 1/2 cup of milk (or canned milk with water)
good pinch of salt.
Good heavy iron skillet and oil just to cover bottom of skillet. Add more as needed.
Filling:
1 8oz. & 1 4oz. pk of cream cheese softened
1/3 cup orange marmalade
3 T orange juice as to thin it a little
1 t vanilla
1/4 t cinnamon
1/4 t nutmeg.
Mix the filling ingredients all up & squirt or spoon the cream cheese mixture in to bread pockets.
Beat eggs, sugar, salt & milk.
Heat oil in skillet to fry. It needs to be med high to brown it good (house might get smokey)
Dip loaded bread into egg mixture, let it absorb some. You might need more egg mix if you like them to juicy. Put the saoked bread in hot oil, brown both sides ( I like it darker)
Plate them up, top with sweetened strawberries and whipped creme. Syrup if you like.

I would assume that it would be made similar to a grilled cheese sandwich.
