It is very expensive to live around downtown Manhattan. I mean I speak for myself.. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment and I pay $3,600 dollars a month. I will say one thing though, it is pretty good living around here. It is definitely worth the money. So to be honest with you, I don't think that you can compare any other part of the city to downtown. Maybe the mid-town!!!

Downtown is Very Expensive, Battery Park City is even more so !

It is very,very expensive to live in NYcity. There are not that many jobs. There are many places to live other than NYC that has a better standard of living. Too many to compare.
