Today I sent a Merry Christmas text to this guy at 1:30pm and around 5:30 pm today I get a reply back from him saying, "Merry Christmas and have a great day", but it was sent at 9:30 am and I got it hours later. Do you think he sent me the message first, and it took almost 8 hours to get to my phone?

yeah! This question is the dumbest question ever!! If your phone says it was sent at 9:30 am and you got it at 5:30 pm, then of course it took eight hours to get to your phone!!!!!!!!!!

I was having problems with my cell phone today too. I kept getting repeat messages from people. It was probably so backed up cause everyone was texting on christmas. New years will probably be the same.

It may bee true It has happned with me to. Messages get delayed delivered. I am not sure why this happnens I guess it may be due to large amount of data traffic as the festival seasons gets bombarded with txt messages...

that's what is sounds like to me. although the only reason for that happening that I can think of is maybe at the time he sent it, you were out of your service range.
it would be best to ask him what time he sent it.

Cell phones are soooo weird. It wouldn't surprise me if it took that long to get to your phone
