Best relationships start from friendship. If you want to be in a long term realationship wouldn't you want that person to be your friend also?
Give it a try. Tell her that you value her friendship and you don't want to ruin it, but you have feelings for her that is beyond friendship and ask her opinion on that. If she is your true friend she will understand.

Why not? It's better that way...at least you really know her so well. And it is good for establishing a successful relationship because the groundwork where it is being built is through friendship first. Go ahead...make the move...and always try to be the best of friends and best of lovers as well. Good luck...happy holidays!!!

All this really comes down to is how your friendship with her is - are you two comfortable enough with eachother to date?
My current bf & I were friends before we dated. We have been together for over 14 months - and very happy. :D
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

If you want to remain good friends then remain good friends.
If you wish to change the nature of the friendship from platonic to sexual you will naturally change the nature of your friendship.
Will this work? - no one can tell.
Do you want to take the chance?
As Dirty Harry said "go ahead punk, make my day"
It's your call!

think it would be alot safer to go into a relationship with someone who had been a friend than not, realize the relationship will change a bit. but i would rater be with someone that i was at least a friend with.

To me it's okay, but you should discuss these things before you get involved. Under no circumstances, if our relationship does not work out, we should always remain friends. My advice, take it slow and steady.

Sometimes it's better to date your friend, there are just some things that you don't have to explain to a friend. Then again if things go wrong you have to be prepared for it to end.......
