Buy a cat tree, do not let him go outside the world is too big for such a little guy.
Or cut down all the trees, just joking.

You can't really keep your cat from climbing trees unless you are willing to put time into being with him outside any time he's near a tree. You could make him a house cat or just stop worrying about him and let him do his thing. Cats are free creatures, they do what they like.

quit letting him out. bonus for leo, he'll live longer. bonus for neighbors? no cats killing birds. bonus for you? no pain in the butt trying to get kitty out of the tree...

Cats should be kept safely indoors just as dogs are expected to be.

Get him a kitty tree. Yes, they can be expensive, but so is vet care on a cat that either falls out of a tree or gets hit by a car, a bill from an angry neighbor for damage done to trees, or the emotional cost of losing a beloved pet.

Unfortunately, the only way to keep your kitty out of the trees is to keep him indoors. You don't have to worry, though. If the cat can get up, the cat can get down. : )

Good luck.

Help him be an indoor kitty. Indoor kitties statistically have healthier and longer lives. Plus they don't piss off your neighbors for trespassing.
