it is confusing isn't it?

then you get into the whole - if god knows everything why did he put the tree of knowledge in the garden of eden in the first place?

doesn't make sense.

In my personal belief system, God can't change you; you must change yourself. You will have to face the circumstances according to your Karma in the past -- whether you make more bad Karma and sin more or change the course by doing good is entirely up to you. There is a choice involved. And so you choose to go to Hell of your own free will because you never paid attention to your bad deeds and never corrected your mistakes.

What is Heaven? Heaven to me is a place where people help each other out and everyone is happy. What is Hell? It's a place where most people are unhappy. (I call the whole "fire in Hell" a metaphor for discomfort.) In which case, Heaven and Hell depict the circumstances you will face in life if you refuse to do good, which somehow make sense to me -- you hate -- you'll be hated; you murder-- you will be murdered. Sounds logical to me.

Maybe Hell is a time-period on Earth when people promote "it's a dog-eat-dog world" and believe in superstitions like the medieval times. Maybe Heaven is a time period on Earth where the people believe in being good to each other. Since there is a huge amount of probability involved in when my particular set of genetic traits come to be on this planet -- maybe that is what the actual God bothers about -- which mathematical combination of genes appears in what time period (Heaven or Hell).

(I have this weird set of beliefs which is really a hodge-podge of most religions, but it makes sense to me.)

That's a common misunderstanding. God doesn't want everyone to go to heaven - God wants everyone to WANT to go to heaven.

In other words, we have to make the choice, we have to accept God's directions, commandments, operating instructions for the best functioning of the human race - whatever term you use, God has set out some basic guidelines.

Some don't like them. And so they do what they want. They have decided that THEIR wishes are more important than God's. Fair enough - they have chosen not to go to heaven. God will respect that choice.

There are theologians who suggest that the only people in hell are the ones who have chosen to go there - to follow their desires and their appetites rather than following what God wants.

God won't change you. You have to change yourself.

Free Will...God has put in each of us the ability and free will to choose our life. God would love for everyone to change and not go to "hell" as you referred. However, would it be real if God did all the work? God will make sure that everyone will have heard and will have the knowledge of him, however it is still our choice to follow or leave.

God who is outside of time can see in a moment what you will do during your whole lifetime. God gives you a free will to choose to know Him or not to know Him. God absolutely will not interfere with your free will because He wants you to love Him freely. So people go to heaven or hell strictly by their own choice even though God may know beforehand what their choice may be.

It's one of the many contradictions in religious thinking.

There can be no barriers to all-powerfulness, no means to frustrate or upset it. There can be no such thing as a "want" or a "desire" for an all-powerful being. If everything is a mere thought away from becoming reality, there can be nothing that god wants that isn't so.

If God exists, then the world, with all its rapists, hurricanes, floods, fires, atheists, child molesters, death, destruction, and pain is precisely the way God wants it to be. Because if he wanted it any other way, WHAT COULD POSSIBLY PREVENT IT FROM BECOMING THAT WAY?

It is illogical and paradoxical to think that a human -- a speck of flesh on a tiny planet in an almost infinite number of solar systems -- it is ridiculous to think that this human could somehow frustrate, insult, or even affect a supernatural, all-powerful being. Out of the 6 billion people on this planet, well over 99% of them don't even know you exist. Does that bother you? Me neither. Congratulations -- you're more mature than "God."

The only reason people believe in religion is because they are unhappy with their insignificance and want to be like god. All of reality points to death as being final, yet somehow religious people think that if they perform certain rituals and believe a certain way, they will gain godlike immortality. They believe that their mere thoughts, when voiced in prayer, can somehow affect the outside world. They are so ego-centric as to think that the vast span of the universe, which is so big that we can't even grasp it with our brains, was all created specifically for them -- and that they are the pinnacle of this special creation.

Sheer hubris.

I think you understand it better than you're letting on. All of mankind is fallen, no one is innocent before the Lord. The world does not want to be saved, and I do not worship a God that asks, wants, hopes, and is otherwised subjected to man's will, especially if he has that kind of nature! But if mankind naturally wants to reject God, then His "knowing your whole life" doesn't matter, you're guilty and deserving of Hell anyway. His grace in predestining His own to a relationship with Himself is the only way through this issue.

Simple. You haven't accepted His Son into your heart and life if you choose hell. You must reject Him, be totally insubordinate to the Lordship of Jesus and willfully break every commandment of God's new covenant you can and do despite to the spirit of grace and the blood sacrifice of Jesus to miss heaven. You have chosen sin over the solution and God finds that inexcusable. That's why people still go to hell. They served the wrong master and that's where their reward is for their evil deeds done in this body. Pride was the root cause of Lucifer's down-fall. It lifts itself up against God and His authority and is the cause of rebellion which is as the sin of witchcraft.

He was on Larry King one night and someone called in and asked him this very question. He said that he underestimated how serious people would take the whole procreation thing. He's behind on his work and doesn't want to work overtime. Can't really blame him. He was supposed to be on 'The View' next week but I read he cancelled out because he was mad at Rosie O'donnell about the "Ching Chong Ching Chong" thing.
BTW he has a (holy) ghost writer working on a new address book which will be made available to the general public so you can see exactly who went to hell and who didn't.

I don't know what your particular idea of hell is, Although Most religions teach that bad people will go to a fiery Hell of eternal torture Hell Do you know that even Good people go to Hell when they die? Hell is really just the common grave of mankind,
Have you ever seen someone tortured? Hopefully not! Deliberate torture is sickening and abhorrent. What, though, of torture inflicted by God?Can you imagine such a thing? Yet this is exactly what is implied by the teaching of Hell an official doctrine of many religions.
Imagine for a moment, the following horrific scene:A person being roasted on a hot iron plate. In his agony he screams for mercy, but nobody listens. The torture goes on and on, hour by hour, day by daywithout any pause!Whatever chrime the victim may have committed, would not your heart go out to him? What of the one who ordered the torture? Could he be a loving person? In no way!Love is mercyfull and shows pity. A loving father may punish his children, but he would never torture them!
Nevertheless, many religions teach that God tortures sinners in endlesshellfire. This is claimed, is devine justice. If thatis true, who created that terrible place of eternal torment? And who is responsible for the excruciating agonies inflicted there? The answer would seem obvious. If such a place really exists, then God would have to be the creator of it, and he would be responsible for what happens there.
Can you accept that? The Bible says:"God is Love"(1John4:8)Would a God of love inflict torture that even humans with any measure of decency find revolting? Surely not! Still, many believe that the wicked will go to a fiery hell and be tormented for ever. Is this teaching logical? The human life span is limited to 70 or 80 years. Even if someone perpetrated Extreme wickedness for his entire lifetime, would everlasting torment be a just punishment? No it would be grossly unjust to torment a person forever for the limited number of sins that he can commit in a lifetime.
Who knows the truth about what happens after we die?
Only God can reveal this information, and he has done so, in his written word the Bible. Here is what the Bible says:"As the[beast]dies, so the[man]dies; and they all have but one spirit......All are goingto one place. They have allcome from the dust, and they are all returning to the dust
God does know your whole life but he does not change you, because he want's people to change out of love for him, and use the free will they have to their own benefit, of knowing God and his loving ways, but not all people are the ones who choose to trully get to know God and many even choose to go totally against him! But that is their choice, all have the freedom to chose their road of life or the road of destruction!and many are choosing the road to destruction, God wants everyone to live, but not necessarily in heaven, and therefore he inspired the Bible for all to have the tools(knowledge )necessary for life, so everyone has not only the choice, but also the instruction manual to the road to lifebut most of the people are choosing the wrong road and will miss out on life even though they have the Bible, that has all the instruction in it to that life! it is just like having a road map in a busy city that would help you find the way to a certain place there yet throwing it down on the flor and just going anywhere the roads lead and thinking they are going the right way but are they really though? Can they really find the place of salvation withought the lnowledge that the roadmap of how to get there? Canm a blind man or woman, find their way around in a place that they have never been to before with outany help from someone who can see?hardly, The knowledge of how to go on the cramped road is there and available for all,but of course that takes some effort to learn, this is why the Bible says that vengence will come upon those who do not know God and do not obey the good news about Jesus Christ, these ones will undergo the judicial punishment of everlasting destruction(1Thessalonians1:8)

God wants everyone to go to heaven, but He cannot force us to accept His offer of salvation. So only those who are willing to do His will, that is to obey Him and keep His commandments will be allowed to enter heaven. The rest will be returned to their origin which is earth or dust in the hell fire which will clean the earth of sin, sinners, and the consequences of sins, such as sickness, germs, viruses, pollution crime wickedness and death. Because if people do not want to obey Him, and keep His commandments, heaven will not be heaven to them, and it will spoil the happiness of those who want to do His will and obey Him.
