Has anyone out there ever been a non-Christian such as an Atheist or Mormon, and then was saved by a Christian friend? What did they say to you to help you to believe in God? How were you introduced to the church community?

Sorry if the previous question offended anyone. It was not intentional in any way.

What I really ment to say was how can I present facts about my religion without sounding pushy but at the same time giving them something to think about?

When I was in that position, efforts by people to convert me antagonised me more because their life didn't represent the morals they were espousing and this invalidated their words. Still to this day I dislike Christians not living the life they are supposed to and most of all I dislike when I fall short of the mark. At some point though I worked out that I will never be good enough and I just have to accept that God loves me the way I am. That revelation comes to the person you are trying to save in God's time and not yours. The best thing you can do is pray for them, be a loyal friend yet maintain your standards and integrity, but above all live the life you are preaching about. When the time is right they will ask you all the questions and even ask to come to church. Jesus said planting seed in hard ground would not be fruitful so you have to wait until theit heart is softer - until then back off and be a shining light.

A deranged and wicked non-believer is the only kind of atheist that is subject to conversion. Such a person has never been capable of reasoning and has fallen into all sorts of criminal activities. Those people you can find in prisons. They have done such a bad job at using reason they can't tell the difference between reason and belief.

Religious people are very successful at converting primitive tribes, poor and ignorant populations, and criminals. These, and only these, are the atheists that can convert.

People don't seem to understand that religion is simply a moral code. All people must live by some code of morality, even criminals. Morality is not the monopoly of faith or mysticism. No one has to write down commandments like “don't kill, don't lie, don't rob” lest he might forget. One needs only to think about the logical consequences of violating peace and honesty to understand where suffering and injustice comes from. If someone with a very diminutive brain needs also to be scared by a vengeful god or else he would indulge in rampant murdering, lying and stealing, well, that's all religion can offer him in the field of morality. It doesn't seem to be very effective.

Atheism is not a philosophy. It is the natural conclusion of a philosophy based on reason and science. One who has found that reason serves him well both in the practical way of living and his moral conduct cannot be converted to a faith-based philosophy. It would be the same as trading the benefits of electricity for a stone ax.

As a Mormon, I've gotta say that calling a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints a "non-Christian" sure puts up a blockade!

First thing you need is a firm knowledge of the facts, like what the word Christian means in the English language. The dictionary says a Christian is a person who believes that Jesus is the Christ, and that the Bible is scripture.

As a "Mormon", I believe (as I suspect you do) that Jesus Christ was the creator of the world, that he was born of a virgin, is the Only Begotten Son of God, that he lived a perfect life, taught the "good news" or the gospel, established His church, suffered for our sins and died for us. He was resurrected, taught for forty days, then ascended into heaven. He will come again, and will establish His kingdom on earth.

I have been born again through His atonement, and the Holy Ghost has told me in my heart that he is the promised Messiah.

These are the things we hold in common. Now that you know that, isn't it wrong to call me a "non-Christian"?

No one is ever saved by what you say, what convinces people to take another look at themselves and their beliefs is in watching how others live. One reason preaching to your friends, ahem, I mean.. sharing your faith rarely works and is so off-putting and contrary to all of your efforts is because the languaging and emphasis are all the same. The one being spoken to feels the judgement of the sharer of the good news, which isn't so good to the other person when the message is, I do not accept you as you are and you must be like me.

Let your life say all that your words cannot. You will never have the right words. Tell your friend you love them just as they are and invite them to share what they believe with you, only when you can open yourself to the possibilites of the world as others' see them can they ever be open to you in return. This seems like such a Christ-like notion yet few churchgoers ever really get this... ironic since they spend most of their time reading and focussing on the scriptures that they miss this fundamental truth and behavior that most hethens find most natural- go figure.

good luck and with good intentions I know.

I am Mormon, all you can do is share your testimony. PEOPLE cannot convert, nor "save" anyone...only the Holy Ghost can truly convert someone. I don't believe in the typical "being saved" like most Christians do...
And I find it odd that you grouped Atheists and Mormons in the same non-Christian sense. If you actually looked into the Mormon church, you would realize we are VERY much Christian.

left: Being a Christian, my whole-hearted advice for you is this. Please leave the converting to God [Jesus], He made people and is in the saving business. Each person in both, their turn and time will be given a kick at the "can". The very best advice I can give you for the most part, is to be seen and not heard. Be an example of "good" works to everyday people - let your "light" shine, (show the love of Jesus). This will speak volumes to the unconverted. I, myself, was the toughest "nut" to crack but was won over to a relationship with Jesus Christ by the example of a Christian, God set up for me in my life. Trust me on this one ! Your conduct is not the only thing BUT IS the THING !!!

I don't know about mormons, but an "atheist", I recon was hooked, in the past in a kind of belief. But finally has taken the chewing gum that was between his ears and had thrown it away.

I don't think that should be easy to go back to a "Blindfold" situation.

I have many friends who are "christians" and try to save me, but I am beyond "consultation".

I hope they'll be saved..:)

You can tackle this problem in the flesh, but only with fleshly results. only God can successfully though you, and without you.
by his Word & Spirit open there eyes. And that come's thought
much prayer. You must realize what you are realy up against
The bible saids :- For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the Authorties, against the powers of darkness----(so on) Read Eph.6:10 to 6:18. There's much more I would like to say, but not much room to say it. just remember when you pray, take authrity over this darkness that blinds them, and ask god to give them Reverlation. The bible saids :-No one comes to the father except who the father DRAWS. Again pray that the father will Draw them to him. Read John 6:44 - 45. I know this will help. GBY.

The term "saved" is in and of itself very judgemental when you refer to others as "not saved" or "unsaved." That is very personal, and even for atheists and pagans, between them and God to sort out. TEACH not convert. Jesus didn't go to the samaritan woman and tell her to be baptised and convert or say some prayer, all of which have a point, but first you must teach. And God teaches morality.

I am not an atheist but I have a close friend who is one. The only thing that I believe you can do is prepare them to have open hearts, eyes and Minds to the works of God in their Lives an allow God to move in them so that they may hear, see, and accept Him in their lives and remain in constant prayer for them.
