hi im 14, and i know most of growth comes from genes,, but what substances slow the growth? i hear caffeine does, though there have been no proof. does the medicine that helps u fall asleep stunt growth? what are all the things that stunt growth?

poor nutrition

any animal person can tell you instances of young animals that were poorly fed that NEVER develop properly
same with humans

cigarettes DO seem to stunt growth, even the nicotine chew...I've known kids that used chew and they never did reach the heights of their siblings

found an odd Nov'06 article about people stunting the growth of their children ON PURPOSE with hormones...bottom line, 6 yr old had mantal ability of a 2 yr old, parents chose to keep her small to enable them to physically care for her

Malnutrition, cigarettes, alcohol can stunt some very important growth. I've even heard of some medicindes that could a little.

Things to avoid...um...short parents?

don't drink caffeine either
no carrots! i heard it makes you short (no actual proof)
and drink milk
