Do you get offended when Christians try to convert you and talk about Jesus all the time (i.e. missionaries, Mormons, fanatic Christians, those who are so excited to share etc.) I'm not Christian, but surprisingly, I respect these people. They have strong faith in their religion (even if I think it is wrong lol) and I genuinely respect them for their vigor and concern for humanity. I'm Muslim and have met some very nice religious Christians. You can actually reason with them using their own logic (cuz at least they have a fixed belief in something). Sometimes they are kind of annoying ut at least they are reaching for their goals and have good intents. (just thought of the saying...hell is paved with good intentions....*snicker* I dont believe that tho) Anyway Happy Holidays :)

If someone is truly a Christian, they believe that there is only one way to enter Heaven and escape eternal damnation(John14:6). That way is available to everyone who would simply accept Christ's sacrifice as the payment for their sins.

My thing is this:
If we really believe this, and we care about others-then why aren't we doing everything in our power to show those we care about? (I'm talking about myself as well)

If I were walking down a road and I saw a huge ravine in the path, but the person along side of me was blindfolded - wouldn't I do everything I could to stop them from walking into the hole? What if they thought I was overreacting? Does that mean I just step aside and say, "O well, it was nice knowing you. " or do I try to get them to open their eyes and look at where they were going?

There is however a difference between informing and harassment. It is up to every person to make their own decisions. It is my duty to present the opportunity and information, but no one but God can change someone's heart. (Prov21:1) And He will not force us to choose Him.

I do appreciate the fact that you understand the motives. And I hope that you will continue to grow in God and get to know Him all the more.

No I was converted many years ago to The church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. and very happy I did.I have JW come by now and again and I always enjoy speaking with them,

If you don't want to talk to them just put a little sign outside your door (((((No religious solicitors))))) That's what my sister had made up when the JW were coming by once a week and she couldn't get any thing done . They stopped comming by
Guaranteed they will pass you by.Thus no more problem

Yeah, I like to listen some times 'cuz that is a benefit to me, Islam promotes seeking of knowledge. The problem with these persons is that they are not seeking knowledge, they think that you should be as blind as they are and you will give up every thing just 'cuz they came bangin' on your door. The reason they do this is because they are told that it is their mission and purpose in life, sent from God. That being said; leaves you with the forceful "converts-ions" toward their religion. They traveled to other lands to take it for them selves and to put others beneath them using the teachings of their religion, ex: African slave trade.

Thank Allah for Islam.

I do not respect anyone who believes that their truth is better than anyone else's. Nor do I respect those that are ignorant of their own religion. Christians are guilty on both counts. They believe they have the only way and they do not understand the history of their own religion. They are too fearful to study it. Many of them do not even know their own "holy book" and have not read it cover to cover. I have no time for people like that.

I am more sad when Christians TELL me I am not "Christian" because I don't believe the same as they do...I am a Latter-day Saint (Mormon) and we believe in Christ, just slightly differently than they do. We believe He is the Son of God, in His divinity, that He suffered and died for us...
anyways, I understand your point. It does get a little irritating when they claim I am (or anyone else who isn't "saved" in their eyes) going to hell. I am positive no one can know the outcome of their salvation without a personal visit from Christ himself, not even the "saved" Christians...

Sometimes, depends on how they do it.

If im talking about religion, I expect it

If theyre not all in my face about it i respect it

Well, to cut down on typing, the only time I dont like it is when they randomly knock on my door

A story about it, when I was a kid, we had just gotten hit by a big storm and had trees down, my dad was cutting up the tree with his chainsaw, and some Jahovahs Witnesses pulled up in their car, they got out and said "do you want to talk about God" my dad whipped around and said, "sure, if you wanna get that saw over there and help me clean up God's mess"

lol just thought I'd share that

I've had a couple bad experiences with Christians. Here, I'll mention three. 1) A girl stared at me with disbelief and shock when I told her I was an atheist. She looked at me as if I was the devil. 2) Three girls had the same reaction except they left my dorm room and never came back. 3) A girl stayed friends with me but brought up the subject of Christianity every chance she got. Asked me common Christian questions on atheism and ignored my answers (calling ME stupid because she didn't understand my answers) and telling others that I was an atheist as if that was something new that defined me that should give others a different (negative) perspective of me (very uncalled for). *I* stopped being friends with her.

:-(

I don't get offended. Sometimes I get annoyed and frustrated, but not offended. I only take offense when they tell me I am wrong. I don't criticize their beliefs and I would like the same respect back.

I have more contempt for them.

Seriously are you so insecure about your own religion that you need to peddle it around like a street vendor? Is it so weak that you need to mask what it says?

Your religion should speek by how the way you behave and treat others. Not biblical quotes and "proofs."

I am a christian and i don't go around trying to convert everyone. But the people who do, are just trying to do what they think is the right thing and its just because they care.
