Theres absolutely nothing wrong with either.
if a baby is going to be aborted, thrown away, and forgotten, why not try to save someones life, by using the "trash" to research things. U werent going to use it anyway... get over it... (mind u, not u personally, u in general. These topics get me steamed)
and gay marriage is fine.
Gays are people, like you and me. they have feelings, desires, hopes, dreams, ambitions, fears, hates, and likes... they are effin people...
You never really can understand your true feelings about gay people untill u love someone as a straight person, and find out they are a homosexual. if u stop loving them for that, u are a horrible person (remember, not particularly u) and have no concious. u loved them for what they were, not who...

I don't think is any thing wrong with gays getting marry. I don't think any body is prepare at the present time to say homosexuality is a disorder. The way people approach homosexuality is the same way they approach any thing else they don't agreed with, like another religious or political believes, the taste in food, the way you dress, your personal life style, etc. How about living and let others live as they want to, as long you are not affected by it. In this time and age, any body who condemn others for any reason based only on a personal religious believe, or in a imaginary god's opinions, that person should be ignored or laughed out town. Practice whatever you think your god tells you to, and let others pursue happiness the way they want to. Stem sell research? if fanaticism had its way we'd still be buried back in the dark ages.

There is nothing at all wrong with gay marriage or stem cell research, of course.
However, some christian churches, including the catholics, believe that god rules over all biological matters. So they see any kind of man-made or scientific advance or influence as an invasion of god's turf.
According to them, the purpose of sex is to procreate. Sex without the intent of procreation is wrong to them. As Monty Python mocked: "Every sperm is sacred." So homosexuality is against god, contraceptives are against god, and abortion is against god.
Embryonic stem cell lines were obtained from "human" blastocysts (5 day old embryos with 50-150 cells). The extraction (or continuation, actually) of the stem cells resulted in the destruction of the remaining embryo. This caused the fundys to create a panic that stem cell research = abortion and is therefore against god.
They can now obtain stem cells from bone marrow and other places, which harms no living thing or zygote/embryo. And yet the bible-thumpers still want it outlawed, with some kind of bizarre logic that this is "fooling with mother nature" of invading god's turf. This is the same logic that would say, "If man were meant to fly, god would have given him wings."
They seem to be afraid of scientific advances because they see them as a threat to their beloved god's role in the world. In a way, they are right that scientific advances represent a kind of threat to their god. As we learn more about our world, there is less and less need to rely on god as an answer to the unkowns.
These fundys would do better to simply decide that their god isn't set in his ways regarding scientific matters - which would make their god so much more adaptable for the future.

As far as the stem cell research, the problem is that in the case of fetal stem cell research, foetii are often destroyed, yet there is no reason to suspect that they are of value to anyone other than the person the foetus would have been. However, there is a huge amount of success with creating stem cells from a living person's cells. This particular line of research is turning out to be quite viable.
However, even as a 100% pro-life/anti-choice atheist... I acknowledge that many of the foetii being destroyed for stem cell research are headed for the red-bag garbage pail anyways, and I reluctantly allow that it is better that their life be given for scientific pursuits than to be totally wasted. However, it would be the best of all worlds where this never happened.
The gay marriage though? Yeah, with you 100%. I'd love to be able to marry my significant other without having to move to Massachusettes.

Why do you think of being gay as having a 'disorder'. Are you a doctor, have you researched about homosexuality in depth? I'm sorry, but that was pretty ignorant.
I don't think there is anything wrong with gay marriage or stem cell research. I was always taught to think for myself and for that reason, I have become very open minded. So many people close their minds off due to influences most often from parents and other family members. I'm just glad I was given the opportunity to come to my own conclusions.

There is nothing wrong with either. If two consenting adults want to proclaim their love in a legal ceremony, why should anyone object.
The argument that stem cell research destroys potential human life is specious. The embryos that are used are those that would be destroyed ANYWAY. If anything, it preserves (or at least has the potential to preserve) some of those lives.

Gays have a disorder! Wow. I won't even go that far!
Gays may have some different gene or protein patterns, I wouldn't call that a disorder.
Some gays may do it by choice. I wouldn't call that a disorder, just unusual choice or direction.
Marriage is up to states and Churchs to decide.
The Bible implies it is between man and woman with the idea of propegation.
As for stem cell research, I have no problems with it, genome research, gene spicing, etc., so long as scientists do it on the Moon or Mars, not Earth.
That last thing we need is another biohazard from a lab experiment gone wrong.

I don't hate gay people but i do hate the way they live. God gave free will to see if we would chose the right or the wrong way to live, not just for the fun of it. You can even read about that in GOD word, the Bible, He destroyed two cities full of gay people. Hes not against the people, Hes against the sin. And about stem cell, well, just listening to how they do it sounds wrong, i would not want that to be my stem cells, would you?

there is nothing wrong with gay people, and it is not a disorder if you get the DSM psychology book, Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, you will not find being "gay" among the disorders. And I agree with you on both issues, but people tend to only see one side of things, and things that are different and new to them, are scary and in other terms "wrong" , we find this with everything in the world, from religion, politics, hairstyles and food..... so unfortunately I cannot say why these things are bad, but if you believe in this and have good reasons to believe in these things (at least good where YOUR conscience is not disturbed) then don't let ANYONE tell you you are wrong or stupid or crazy, everyone has different opinions and nothing is black or white or cut in stone oh and why would God hate someone for loving another person?
oh but God did make Steve, and John and Mike, and Jane and Kate and Grace so in a way he made Adam and Eve,and Adam and Steve, and Jane and Kate

>>Whats wrong with gay marrige...?<<
Marriage is an institution founded by God way back inthe Garden of Eden. ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE ELSE is marriage discovered to be a government institution. It's always been that the government is following the example set forth in the Bible.
Don't like it?
Don't cry to me. I'm just reporting the facts.
Now, because marriage is given to us by God, we need to see what He says about it and disregard everything else that runs contrary to His definition.
Biblical marriage is NEVER homosexual.
Period.
>>Whats wrong with...stem cell research?<<
It cheapens life when babies are aborted for the purpose of harvesting these stem cells.
I just read this week that one of the European nations was in the spotlight because the medical field was offering young women money to abort their babies for the purpose of stem cell research. Now we are putting ourselves in a place where we can place a dollar amount on human life!
STEM CELL RESEARCH IS ALWAYS MORE ACCURATE WHEN PERFORMED WITH ADULT STEM CELLS AS OPPOSED TO BABY ONES.
