Ohh this is easy! LOL the male budgie has a bright blue cere when in breeding condition, when young it has a pink cere. The (cere) is the top part of the beak "Nostral" area. Some adult male parakeets in some mutations can have pink to purpleish beaks like all young male birds. This is seen in mutations like "Albino" and "Ressecive Pied" and a few others...

ALL females have white, tan or Brown ceres. a Deep rich chocolate brown indicates that she is in breeding condition. Young females have pink ceres with white rings around there nostrals on the cere. It can be tricky indentifying young birds sexes's. Hope this helps

Well I have 4 parakeets and you can tell which one is a boy by the color of the top of the beak. If it's blue, it's a boy..if it's brown it's a girl. You won't know exactly when they are babies.

You can never really be sure, though. A joke in the parakeet world is that you're only sure a parakeet is female when you see an egg come out of her :) And you can only tell a parakeet is male if he gets "excited" and you see his sex organ poking out of his feathers!
