I would probably count myself as Atheist and Buddhist (I'm probably better at the atheism than the Buddhism). Buddhism makes a good addition to any spiritual endeavor. It doesn't aim to supplant faith or introduce new gods to worship. That said, they're both labels and subject to the vagaries that words have (I don't have a tattoo and I usually approach any question in life on its own merits).
I would also affirm what Shellback says...religion doesn't matter, your actions do.

I am a believer in God and his son Jesus Christ. However, I clam no religion and I have no intention of ever claiming a religion nor am I looking for one. I am at complete and total peace with this choice. Do not confuse the two, as you do not need a religion in your life to have total faith in the almighty.

Buddhism is not a religion, it's a philosophy. You can take things from Buddhism and be a Christian.
