Oh I do that all the time. It is way easy, it takes only about 15 minutes for me to do it and I have long hair, and it lasts all day even without any hairspray.
You just "take a small section of hair and place the iron towards the root of your hair.
With your other hand, wrap the section of hair once around the iron and slowly drag the iron through your hair – similar to the way you would curl a ribbon with scissors.
After the iron is all the way pulled through your hair, use your fingers to twirl the hair into a curl.
Separate the curls with your fingers – but do NOT brush them out – and then spritz with a light mist of your favorite hairspray to set the style. "

The chi works the best for that, my sister uses it to curl her hair all the time and it looks great. The high heat makes it work like a curling iron too. However, it is a more expensive one but it is by far the best for your hair's health.

I prefer hair which is shoulder length or longer, And since that men who like women are more often then not directly, they like long hair because that looks more feminine, as most males have short hair.

I do it everyday!
First of all you might want to straighten ur hair to get the sleek look.
The you have to start rolling at the end of ur hair..and roll it up to the lenght u desire.Make sure you stay in that position for 5 seconds.. You might want to roll it inwards or out.It doesnt matter coz in the end ur curls will look gorgeous! But make sure to hair spray ur hair to last longer...

Just to let you know there is no such thing as a " straightener '' they are called flat irons.
Thoroughly brush your hair and section it with ties or clips.
Start from the bottom layer of hair on one side. Take a small section of hair. Using a thin iron, clamp it at the bottom of your hair and slowly curl it upwards.
Hold it for about 5 or so seconds, and gently remove the straightener. [Edit: Actually since most flat irons are just two flat heated plates with plastic or some other heat resistant backing, doing so will just keep the heat on the end too long and end up frying the ends of your hair.]
Instead, take the section, lightly mist it with a flexible hairspray. Then place the flat iron about an inch away from your scalp. Twist the iron completely around and then pull it down toward the ends of your hair. This will create the same kind of effect you get when you use a scissor to curl the ends of a ribbon. Running it over your hair slowly will create a tighter curl, and quickly will create a looser curl.
Do this to the bottom layer of your hair right around to the other side, then move up and go around until all of your hair is curled.
Spray your hair to hold your style (optional).
