It is very normal. Many girls start at a much younger age and pediatricians tell you it is very normal. An adult may want to talk to her about what is happening and explain.

Masturbation isn't necessarily "bad" or "wrong" especially if the person is comfortable doing it. The only time someone should get worried is when the person becomes obsessed with it and does it constantly. It's just a way to see if our "parts" are still working, so there's really nothing to worry about, but you or someone else should still talk to her.

Its human nature to explore our bodies. Its american culture that tells us its wrong. There are tribes out there. And their kids play sexual games. I have to admit, my sister did the same with me. We dont talk about it becuase its ackward. But its actually natural. As long as she doesnt get over masturbation and goes on to the real thing. Wacth her. thats how teenage pregnamcy starts. She really needs somebody to tell her that sex is not good at her age and give her reasons why. Dont lecture but just tell her what the outcomes could be.

Ofcourse it's totally fine. I believe that is fine for a kid any age to explore their body and sensations. Plus, she's a preteen and that's the peak time to start to experiment with their sexuality. Masturbation has never been bad, ofcourse, everything should be in moderation ( not feeling herself all day long).

That is a very normal thing for a 13 year old girl or boy to be doing. It is much better for them to be masturbating than to be having sex,,don't you think???

I'm 15 but i do know that it's wrong... What your 13 yr old family member does or did is totally unappropriate for her age! I mean she should bearly be getting out of barbies and playing dress-up games with her friends!! I think you should talk to her and ask her why she does what she does and explain to her that she's a young and flurishing girl preplexed by her body but masterbating herself isn't something for any young girl/lady to be doing. (have you asked yourself from where she got the idea of it in the first place?) Talk to her and hear her out too...hope everything goes all right...

It is normal human behavior. I was doing it at the age of ten. Many kids are as young as 2 or 3 when they start. When kids are doing it at young ages it isn't necessarily about sex. They do it because it feels good to them. It is important that it be done in private though.

Sweet heart. That is not the thing to do. Talk to someone that you feel comfortable with. You have many good years ahead of you. This type thing that you are doing could lead to so many other doors that you should not want opened. It seems as if you have plenty time on your (hands). Find something very positive to do. Get involved in a youth ministry at a church who cares. God bless you dear.

No, it's not wrong at all. Most healthy adolescents (male and female) masturbate. It's perfectly OK that she's exploring her body. It's far better than the alternative - her letting boys touch her! She won't get pregnant or catch an STI from her fingers!

why would you think anything of it. I wouldn't judge that. I think it is fine. boys do it at that age. and girls certainly explore. One thing though, it does seem a bit young to masterbate, girls generally do that at a later age. while something may not be wrong, it could be an indicator of sexual abuse or early sexual experience.
