According to an article I foundin Bizjournal from September, Taco Bueno was supposed to open a restaurant at the corner of I-35 and Wonder World in San Marcos before the end of the year. I just past there a week ago and haven't even seen construction or anything that shows where it will be at that intersection. And it also stated that one was going to be put up at the intersection of South MoPac and Slaughter when the new year starts. Well, was just there yesterday and again, no construction. Emails to Bueno have gone unanswered for a long time. ANYONE have any insider info, maybe?

So many people wish this would happen. It's a total tease that Taco Bueno doesn't operate all over Texas. I know several people raised in Dallas that live elsewhere that wish they would open to the south.

I love Taco Bueno! And when going to Conroe a few weeks ago I saw the new location and announced that there would be a required stop on the way back... and there was!! It had just opened so I was surprised that there were no problems at all! I have a tradition that every time I'm in Dallas I stop at the Taco Bueno by my grandma's and get enough food for the whole ride back! Now if they could only open one IN Houston so that I don't have to go all the way to conroe.... BTW A little bit further down from there is a place called Fajita Jacks... it's SO good and the prices are great...

Waco has always been the dividing line: Anything north/northwest of Waco has Taco Buenos but anything to the south only has Taco Cabanas or Taco Bells.

I live and work near Mopac and Slaughter, and I haven't seen or heard any plans to add a Taco Bueno. In fact, with it being the Circle C area, I would highly doubt that they would allow that chain to move in.

I really hope they do open one (or more) in Austin. But I have not heard anything.
