Kids love games and she's 5 so learnning games should be great. Like asking her a never ending list of what color is this and applauding her when she gets it right and helpping her out when she has trouble. You work with her on learning to read and if she starts to really enjoy that it will take up 2 hours a day maybe. Also exercise is great so the park is really nice ... just beware of strange people. Your house sounds scary wit hall the electrical stuff ... make sure medicine cabnets are locked tight and she can't get into anything that she might choke on ... kids need protection mostly from themselves. You can even work out with her like sit ups and jogging. Be good to tire her out. Ummm if you get a big box and cut a hole in it you can perform plays with her and pretend to be TV stars or music singers. Little girls probably like dolls so playing with dolls might become a steady thing...make believe and all that good stuff. Other good games will be anything with counting ... naming things like basic parts of the body, watching animal planet and making animal sounds ... grrrr, meaow, also getting some markless coloring supplies would be great ... kids really enjoy art and you might too. If your strong enough you can give her some airplane rides. I used to love those when my aunt gave them to me many years ago. Feet on the stomache ... hold the hands and be very careful not to drop her on her head. You can also teach her card games like memory, slap jack, and go fish, crazy 8's, and Uno. ...If you get some soft balls you can play catch of some sort or kick ball at the park. That would be fun. If she likes PB & J cut her sandwhiches in the shape of a pac man ... my grandma used to do that for me ... It's something nice I remember. Most kids have a favorite cartoon or movie that they will make you play over and over again until you cry for mercy so be ware and try to get her outside more and playing other games, but if you just want to chill ... cartoons and such are always there. She will always have more energy then you and don't forget kids need naps so about 12:00 lay her down with a blanky and some kind of stuffed animal watching her favorite tv show and she will fall asleep for a few hours. Don't let her sleep too long or she'll be up all night driving her parents wacko ... an hour or two should be okay. Hmmm keep a good eye on her and have emergancy numbers written down in a few areas for parents and 911 just incase something happens. Give her more water and keep her sugar intake down ... besides PB & J, Grilled Cheese Sandwhiches and soup, or cheese sandwhiches & mac & cheese make for some good meals for kids. Good luck and Take Care.

Board games are great. They occupy lots of time. Then, see if it's feasible to go outside to play. If you live in a cold place, it would be fun for them to play in the snow and then go inside for hot cocoa. If you live in a warm place, see if there's a park nearby to go to. I think small children do really well with some exercise in them.
You could also see if they have puzzles, or get out some crayons and draw pictures. Low mess, creativity, lots of fun.

Well, I have a 6 yr old daughter and she likes just about everything ,especially if the attention is on her... or them. My girls like to play with Barbies, and love to play with makeup and love to get their nails done ( of course you would have to ask the parents first ).... also, they like sports and to play games....if you have a playstation or sega or something that would keep them occupied for a long time, or to watch a movie.. Also, just ask them what they would like to do....My girls also love to cook and eat!!!! They would be interested in just dancing with you in your room!! LOL my daughters love to spend time with older girls so, as long as you listen to them and dont let them run all over you, I am sure you and they will have fun!

At any age a mix of creativity, music, math, and art is great. The younger they are the shorter their attention span so be prepared to switch often.
Here are a few specifics:
-I spy with my little eye...
-Role playing (e.g. Tea party)
-Soccer, skipping, hopscotch
-Sing a longs
-tic tac toe
-checkers

A great game is go fish. They probably know their letters so it will make them feel good to play such a 'grown -up ' game. Also you can use the cards to play the memory game too. Also, they will probably like speed stack too!

lil girls love to play lots of things, like dress up, dolls, grab em some paper and crayons or u can even crumple em up and let em kick them around the floor -- kids are so easy to entertain, there are movies , make a tent, let them find things around the house u hide, play I spy, hook em up with a playstation, give them books to read or look at, let them play camping by putting blankets and pillows on the floor w flashlights, playdough, or give them a snack, -- there are so many things to do, you can even print out coloring pages onlne or let them play barbie, com -- goodluck!!

They love art.. Take an art project..brown paper sacks, print outs from online, crayons, glue sticks, anything artsy, buttons, popcicle stickes, glitter, paint, pom pom...make collages...pasta, beans, cereal. Have them make a gift for their parents for the holidays or new years.
I added a fun link below for you to explore. Good Luck!
