Censoring.
Yeah, there are too many people that have nothing better to do than to complain that hearing certain words or phrases is going to cause the world to end.
They need to learn to change the channel or shut the set off and let people watch what they want.

Well i just say "... they bleeped it out" refering to the word. I guess i would say i use bleep as the verb 4 it.
Yea it is common here.

The people doing the "bleeping" are called censors
the idea behind the action is called censorship
the word for your blank would be ---------censored-------
but it would read easier if an object of the action was introduced--such as --- "they" (the censors)----
They censored the line___!!

I've alway called it 'bleeping' but I don't know if that's the official term.
Technically, its 'censoring' the word or line...
So I think vernacular is 'bleeping' and correct English is censoring.

I think it's more "to censor" rather than "bleeping" because bleeping was originally used to describe the sound of sheep, and censorship has only recently been used...
So you can say "to censor" the line :)

I would say they "edited" the line. But I believe it's actually called a "bleep".

Since this question has been answered many times over, I only wanted to let LA LA LAND know that sheep bleat. "Bleating", not "bleeping" are the sounds they make.
