There is this guy that asked me out to dinner, but we have never met before in person. We have several mutual friends, that's all. So you can say it's a stranger date...
We are going to eat italian... but i HATE cheese... AND salad!! so i m thinking about steak... but it's the most expensive item on the menu!!! so help me out here,
should i offer to pay if i order the steak?
should i offer to split the bill if i order the steak?
(thats so embarrassing though!!!)
or u think i should jsut get something else??
what do you suggest? i cannot eat cheese!! and i don't like tomatoe sauce!!!

tell him you're a huge fan of steak, you'd like to go "dutch" on the date. If he still says no, he knows you don't just want to take him to the bank. It's not spending money on a meal that's an issue with most guys, it's thinking they're being used. Best of luck

There should be a decent appitizer on the menu and women often order that as an entre. And why, if you HATE all of that are you going to eat italian? Why not suggest somewhere else?
You also could get the smallest steak but don't offer to pay. If he invited you out he was planning to pay for whatever you ordered.
I'm quite sure he (and you) will be just fine.

if you chose the restaurant then you need to find something else less expensive to order but if he chose the place without consulting you then get steak and enjoy it! if you also enjoy the date you will spend more time together in the future and he will learn your likes and dislikes and will be able to take you to places that you like better

p.s. 90% of the menu will have tomato sauce on it YUCK!

Since it is a first date and he asked you he should pay the bill. Go for the steak.

Suggest to the guy that you go "Dutch" and then order your steak. If he insists on paying, let him, but at least that way you offered.

order what is resonable and tasty do not go for the expensive item as he would assume you are trying to measure his pocket size by that i mean if he can pay for it or not so be reasonable and do not order any expensive item unless he tells you order whatever you like

if he asked he should pay. order what you want. there is a small chance he might ask you to split the bill so dont order everything
