i just turned 12 a few weeks ago and I feel like I'm growing up way to fast! I wanna stay and be a baby forever! I don't wanna grow up ever! I know I'm the opposite of most kids my age, because they would do anything to grow up fast, but I wanna be a baby forever! It makes me so sad! Kids grow up way to fast! I don't have a problem with make-up, but kids are dating and having sex so young! I wish It would stop because it maked it seem like all 12 year olds are like that! I'm not like that all! I wanna be with my mommy forever! It makes me cry to think about growing up! Please help!
(I'm asking this in parenting to get answers from parents.)

Sweetie you sound JUST like me when i was 12 (and even now when i'm 21)! I hated the idea of growing up and still kind of do. And let me tell you how refreshing it is to hear a young girl actaully realizing that your childhood is something that needs to be cherished. You are an adult for most of your life, and a child for only a little while. I don't understand what the rush is to grow up? I say you have the right idea. Stay a little girl for as long as you can. You have the rest of your life to worry about guys and dating, and all that good stuff (which is not as fun as it sounds!) But listen to me....do not worry about growing up, don't let your fears of your future dampen the joys of the present. Enjoy the time with your parents and stop looking ahead. You could live with your parents until you are graduated from college and married, which can give you at least 12 more years living with your parents!! I hope this makes you feel better. Cherish your childhood and put your worries to rest.

Honey

It's normal that you have this fear of growing up but from what you say you make good sense in many ways. God gave you a body and mind that is growing and sometimes it scares us, I went through that as a young boy. I did not want to fiinsh school or go through puberty. But it's a fact of life. I say to you if your in a church talk to your youth pastor about your fears, he will listen with concern and love. While most kids at age 12 are not having sex, a select few will because they feel it's the only way to get attention and some parents fail to give them that guidance. I pray your parents will be supportive of you and give you space to think and grow in spirit and truth. God Be with You.

I have a 5 year old son and it just seems like yesterday he was just a baby. Time flys by so fast.
I cannot believe i am 27 years old (almost 30!) and i cannot believe it. Cause i feel like i am 16 and it seems just like i am that still 16.

Hold on to your age as long as you can. I don't get why anyone would want to grow up so fast. Be a kid as long as you can and make sure you listen to your mom when it comes to boys even if you don't want to hear it and please when and if you do decide to have sex get your mom to put you on birth control cause there is no need in being a teenage mom. If that happened then that would just make you grow up so good luck and have fun while you can.

Hmmmm this is a toughie because im only 1 year older than u...yes there are times when everyone wishes that they are younger or wish that they can be babies again so they wont have to go thru what adults are going through but think about all the things that u can do now that ur a lil older? u can go to more places and things like that and eventaully things will fall into place ur going to get use to being older and ur gunna love being older! i mean yes there are some good points in being younger but enjoy being a teen or a tween (in between) its really fun ! and everyone grows up u just have to get use to it i know its hard but everyone goes thru it and u will too! good luck and happy holidays!

It sounds to me, that you are the smart one, and not your friends or school mates. Growing up will happen for you when you are ready, a step at a time. Just because kids your age are doing drugs, having sex and all the other things that make them THINK that they are grown up, does not mean you have to join in. When you are ready to experience grown up things, I hope you have a better head on your shoulders, so you can skip the dumb things, like drugs, cigarettes, pregnancy while ruining your life and choose the right things like education, great paying job, nice apartment, good friends, and finally meeting someone who respects the person you are and falls in love with you. Stay with your mom now, all this will come to you in time, don't sweat it!!!!

I'm 13 and i know exactly how you feel(no im not a parent!) I go to high school in a few months and im not so excited to go. when we were little being 12 and 13 or even in middle school seemed like they were so big and grown up but now it doesnt. i still feel like a kid but i feel people(adults) are pushing us to grow up so fast. if you have any younger siblings try spending time with them and playing with them.

I think that is great!!! You are still a kid!!! Enjoy yourself while you can, because it won't last forever!!!!Just stay close to your mom and dad and you will be fine....There is no sense in trying to keep up the pace with some of the other 12 yr olds....cus to be honest, alot of them are a whole lot more talk than action!!!!!

Growing up is L-I-F-E........ We all have to....... I'm 31, have a 13y, and an 8y........... Boy if that don't make me feel old........ My youngest feels like you........ Being Mommy's girl is normal, and just because you get older doesn't mean you have to follow your generation, and what they do..... Be a leader, not follower......... The pressure at school must overwhelm you, because you aren't acting like the rest........... GOOD JOB !!!! I'm proud of you.. Save yourself for your husband......... Be Mommy's girl ! Your still very young ! Just enjoy each day like its the last.....

How i wish i were ur mummy~ lols

You dont have to make love as in u r not forced either.
Furthermore its illegal at you age..
Learn to say no and growing up does not consist of only sexual stuff..
there are mani things to experience like peers and lots for you to discover on the road towards your teen other than wat u hab been worrying abt=) dun cry dun cry cuz mummy always there..

You are a pure and innocent little girl. Mummy loves u (:

No you don't need help.
Life is so much more fun and much simpler when you're younger

I have felt this way a lot
but you are still young live it up!

Don't give in to peer pressure and don't do anything you don't want to do and your life will pan out exactly how it should

Have Fun!!
