Oh it's very possible, in all forms.
The simplest, and *legal* way is to brew some homemade wine or beer. With beer, there's a whole variety of ways...the easiest is to get a "Mr. Beer" and follow its directions.

You could get more and more elaborate, depending on how involved you want to get.

Another simple way at home is to make hard cider. You essentially ferment a gallon of preservative free (pasteurized is ok) apple juice...using the beer methods.
Finally, is making wine at home...that's basically using fruit juice and fermenting it. Here's everything you need to know:

The next step is making spirits...this part is illegal unless you're in New Zealand, Greece, Italy, or a handfull of other European countries. However, if you *are* in one of those countries, then go for it. What you're doing is essentially making a beer or wine first, then extracting/concentrating the alcohol by distilling it. Here's all the information you could possibly want to know about that:

Not is it only possible, it is pretty simple and fun (if everything goes well) First you need to decide what you want to make. Beer, wine liquor (if it is legal to distill were you live) You can make mead, champagne, Hard cider, sake Pretty much anything you can pick up in a liquor store you can make at home, even Absinthe if you desire
After you decide what you want to make find a good book at the library or just google how to make _____ at home.
After you have decided and have all the info you need start gathering the necessary equipment, keeping in mind you can pretty much use the same equipment to make almost anything Meaning Beer Mead & Cidar, Soda, Spirits (you will need a still) and to lesser degree wine pretty much can all be made with the same equiptment and if you are serious and have the bugdet buy high quality equiptment
As for ingreidients I recomend checking out More Beer if you live in the US. They have the best prices and offer free shipping on orders over $50. You will want the best ingredients for the best results and to be honest I say why waste all the time (sometimes years) & effort to end up with some horrible concoction a homeless person wouldn't even touch

this makes beer or wine ,from any fruit
made some last year from passion fruit
