When I also inserted DVD - RW or DVD R disc it says invalid Disc. Its a DVDR04. Thats all the details that I know

Maybe the laser lens is dirty. Try to clean the laser lens with a cotton swab and a litlle alcohol. Dont push it hard, do it gently. Make sure to clean the disc before playing it.

Your DVD recorder can play BOTH DVD-R and DVD+R/W; however, it can RECORD only on DVD+R or DVD+RW.
If you insert a DVD-R/W with movies recorded in another recorder, make sure it is finalized.

it more likely it is you Cd's you need to look on the box it will or should tell you what Cd's you can use some will say only R or RW-R Or just RW
