Not that I know of. My doctor tells me to use a saline nasal spray, though. Just regular salt water. It's supposed to prevent nosebleeds.

No, if your blood vessels get dry they will bust in your nose causing nosebleeds....Some medicines will dry you out such as Tylenol Cough and Cold....The doctors say to put vaseline in your nose to prevent this. Denise

i don'tthink it has any long term efects but why would you do that? if you have a sore or some scabbing then do it till it heals but not everyday.
