we..go to heaven or hell right after we die.. Read luke 16, the rich man and lazarus.. The bible teaches us right and wrong, and if you will stop and slow down a little. Read your Bible and pray and wait on the Lord and he will show you what is right.. You are very young and there are a lot of atheists and people that don't even believe in God that will try to get you to leave your faith in Christ.. Don't do it, I am a christian and Pastor and have been saved over 30 years. Jesus is the way, truth and life and you need to stick with what is right.
People your age usually want quick answers, just like McDonalds and it doesn't work that way. Be calm and don't make big decisions quickly. God has given you a Pastor and parents to guide you through life and you do not have to make these d

I don't think you actually need to give up your faith.I went threw the same thing you did.I was confused too.I started remembering that the most important thing to remember is the words That Jesus said.To get into the gates of heaven all you need to do is forgive and forget.Forgive and you shall be forgivein.
All you need to know is the simple things.Judge and you shall be judged,so do not judge.Even if you make the mistake or sin purposely just remember that God said that he is a very forgiveing God.Just ask for forgiveness and you will recieve.THIS IS A PART OF TRULEY BELIEVEING.
If you need to see the truth then its not actually believing.
Seeing before or after life doesnt really matter. If God wants you to see it you will believe it or not.God parted the red sea and people still didnt believe in him even after that.He has a reason for everything and he does treat everyone different even though we are all created equal.
Don't fuss over things that have no bareing on the way he wants you to be on earth today.
I know you say but what is the true word? What is actually the truth that I should listen to.
If you follow his words of how to treat people with love and compassion like Jesus did and his last words where forgive them for they know not what they do.Then you will enter the gates of heaven. So why worry about seeing hell.
There was also an Area in the bible when Jesus talked to people that didn't believe in him.his followers asked Jesus how could you talk, sit ,and eat supper with these people that don't believe in you.Jesus then said that those people where still good people. They where still following Gods word. They give to the needy, they forgive people for wrongs they've done.
My parents made me grow up as a catholic.I started realizeing the wrongs catholics done.It says in the bible that no mediator shall stand between God and man.I told the priest he was wrong for believeing that the only way my sins could be forgive was by confessing them to him first. The priest truly believed that he had the power threw GOD.I told him he was being a mediator and I can ask for forgiveness myself to GOD because I believe in GODs word that he will forgive me if i ask forgiveness.
There is another quote in the bible that states GOD shows no specific partiallity for any religion.
All im saying is don't hinder yourself so much.
Every religion has a fault to it because we are all human so therefore no specific religion is perfect.you can always find a fault.Just do your best to follow the best you can.You know that GOD knows you mean to follow his word the best you can. He's watching all the time you know it and i know it.You know thats Good thing.

It is so wonderful that you are looking for the truth. Pray for the truth. When it comes you will recognize it. Your right to question your religion. Everyone should. They can't all be right can they?
John 5:28 Do not marvel at this because the hour is coming when all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. Those who did good things to a resurrection of life those who did bad things to a resurrection of judgement.
Why would we need a judgement day if it happen 2 minutes after death? This is in the future when mankind will be judged as to good or bad. Those who have died are still awaiting a future resurrection.
What we believe doesn't make it the truth? They can't all be right? So we have to rely on the bible to give us the truth.
It can't do that if we don't read it with an open mind.
Study it and anylize all the scriptures and see if it makes sense.
Jesus was not in heaven as soon as he died. He was in the grave for parts of 3 days. REad Acts 1:3 he was seen by them for 40 days before ascending to heaven.
From these answers you can see they are not right! So you have to read the bible for yourself.

Good on you for trying to find answers to questions yourself. Sometimes even our pastors in church don't have all the answers The Bible actually talks about the Bereans who searched the scriptures for themselves and that's what we should all do. Look at the Bible for ourselves, form an opinion & then ask our pastor the question. For the record, I believe that believers go directly to heaven as soon as they die. But I too am in a Baptist church & my pastor believes that when everyone dies they go into a type of "holding pen" some call Hades and that's where we stay until Jesus returns. Hope it helps. God bless you

there's a logical explanation for that. you're a Christian asking a question. Christians could nicely be impolite or they may well be polite. this is basically that neither of those 2 opportunities will happen because of the fact they do no longer disagree with you. so which you will no longer bump into a impolite Christian answering yet another Christian's question. Atheists could nicely be impolite or they may well be polite. The polite ones can look condescending, and the impolite ones are basically impolite. there's no longer something to point that a Christian is extra polite than an Atheist, this is basically which you happen to verify extra impolite Atheists than impolite Christians considering which you're a Christian. i'm constructive many Atheists can positioned up examples of ways impolite Christians intervene with their questions, and be the two justified in asserting so. In end, we ought to constantly all stay away from generalizing because of the fact this is a foul habit. Atheist or Christian.

I praise God for people like you that ask questions like this. Never stop asking, it helps you grow in your faith!
If you find yourself asking questions that cannot be answered very well by your Baptist church, just remember that theology, or the study of God, can get very deep, and can only be answered by a pastor that has been to college & knows his stuff.
For right now, though, especially if your parents are bringing you to church, go with it. Pick up your Bible and read the scriptures mentioned in the sermons, Sunday school, etc., but read all around them too, that way you get an idea of the background and ideas behind the whole thing.
If you find a real "sticker" of a question anywhere, ask in your youth group or ask the pastor or ask in your Sunday school. I find sticker-questions all the time, and I love 'em! They help me in my faith too.

Dear Amber
I am a Christian who practice the Bible teaching. Used to preach in Baptist Church as well as other churches.
The Bible does not teach that we will go to hell or heaven after death, but we will be sleeping in the ground until Jesus comes the second time. Then He will call those who have accepted Him as personal Saviour and do His will.
The teaching about consciousness of the soul after we die is not biblical but the biggest lie of the devil, when he said to Eve:
"You shall not die!"
The Bible say the sinners will die. But those who accept Jesus will be resurrected at His coming. The rest of the wicked people will not be resurrected until the second resurrection. They will be resurrected to receive judgment in hell-fire that will destroy them, and be turned into dust or ashes.
But if you believe the Bible and accept Jesus, you will be saved. At his coming you will be taken to heaven for one thousand years. At that time this world will be empty, only Satan and the evil angels will be here with the skeletons of the wicked. They will be like being imprisoned and have to see the evil things they have done to the earth. After the one thousand years then they will have work to do again tempting the resurrected wicked to attack the New Jerusalem, the home of the saved or the righteous people. At that time fire will come down from heaven to consume or destroy them.
Then this earth will be renewed and the saints or righteous who obey Jesus and keep His commandments will live forever in this new earth. That's why His name is also called Emmanuel, meaning He lives among men. He is going to become the King of kings and Lord of lords ruling from the New Jerusalem which will be located here on earth.
God bless you.

First; I don't know everything there is to know about the Bible, but might I say, prove for yourself what the Bible says. Learn to see things through your own eyes. Don't just believe anything you see or hear ... but when you see or hear something, research it through, with an open mind. Remember; you being a Christian, are in a battle [spiritual] for your mind. Satan gets to the head [mind] then, the body falls next. Personally; I find on-line a lot of MISinformation based on assumptions from people who believe things only because, "someone had told him or her" . Ask God to show you what you need to know. The Holy Spirit will teach you ALL THINGS !!! Good luck to you.

God gave each of us the ability to read his word and interpret it. It's called the mystery of faith. Jesus teaches us love and tolerance. Be careful when you hear someone passing judgment or treating someone of a different faith or belief (agnostic, atheist, etc.) harshly. God does send messages in many forms and in many ways. It isn't God's plan that those lessons only come through other Christians. Look to the lessons Christ teaches us in the bible and you'll see exactly what I'm saying.
It isn't meant to be scary, but it can be confusing. I find strength when I meditate and give thanks. Particularly when I give thanks for the richness of our differences. I am not "better", I am not "unique" other than through my love and trust in Jesus.
Even between writers in the New Testament, God's word is revealed in different styles and forms. Personally, I've always loved the flow and prose of Mathew and Luke.
You'll find in your young life that the spiritual journey you are on is one that is very personal and one that you need to ultimately take on your own. Perhaps you've reached that point now.
I had a wise mentor and Jesuit who told me when I was young: "If you get hung up on the individual words, you miss the spirit. Man is in the words and he is imperfect, God is in the spirit".

Unfortunately many churches teach people things without the benefit of God's holy spirit and this can cause alot of problems. What God wants for each one of us is to check the Bible for ourselves by reading it for ourselves every day. For example, the Bible teaches that the earth was made for man and man for the earth. It also teaches that God will never allow man to destroy it. It says "The meek will inherit the earth and they will live forever upon it." Again, it teaches that only a very few humans (144,000 of them) will go to heaven to rule as kings and priests with Christ. They have been bought from the earth and obviously they will have to have subjects to rule over--reason alone should tell you that those they will rule over are the blessed ones who have inherited the earth. Yet, many religions teach only heaven and the earth destroyed. Why? Because they don't really understand either.
What about hell? The Bible teaches that Jehovah God saw humans burning their children alive in the fire and he was apalled. At Jeremiah 7:31 it gives his reaction to this horrible thing. Yet some want to teach that God himself would torment his children in this way. There is nothing further from the truth. God says in the Bible that our choices are "life or death" but that we must choose life in order to keep living. It is up to each one of us to come to know his will, to be obedient to him and to have love for one another--thereby choosing life. Hell is being cut off from consciousness (Remember Jesus was in hell).
So many more things I could tell you--but now, you must open your Bible and find out for yourself. Pray and ask God to give you holy spirit to help you understand.
