If you are trying to hit your driver higher, use a more lofted driver. You could try teeing the ball up higher too so you are hitting it on the up-swing. They also make balls designed for a higher launch angle. With your irons you need to hit the ball with a downward strike. Sounds weird but hit down to get the ball up. try this at a driving range before you hit the course so you can get the feel.

If you hit the ball well but it balloons in the air and falls out of the sky with no distance its usually related to 2 factors. Number one is the driver and woods. Tee it high and let it fly is good as long as you transferring your weight to your front foot on the downswing or follow though this ensures no extra loft is added to your shot and also enables you to transfer all of your energy fully into your shot.
without going into weight transfer to much the basics are related to balance in your backswing keep it smooth so you can fire though in full balance into your left foot this will help you hit the ball with the true loft of your driver. With your irons its very simple all of the weight transfer factors i mentioned above come into play but with irons its all about ball placement in your stance. Even though you may take narrower stance with your irons you can still unintentionally play the ball to forward this is OK only Whith the long irons because it promotes picking of the ball or sweeping. Just play the ball back 3 inches towards your back foot or right foot this leans the shaft ahead promotes downward contact slightly delofts the face of the club for a slightly lower farther piecing trajectory. I read your question backwards sorry
to hit it higher with you woods is very complex maybe next time-quick tip ball must be of your left foot stay in balance make a good
followthrough if your driver has the right shaft and normal loft-9deg
it should fly plentyhigh.

If you are haveing trouble lofting your driver, use a two wood (Brassie), if your two still won't get up try your three wood (Spoon) and on down the list untill you start gertting the desired loft.
Then work your way back up to the driver, analyzing whether the face-slant of each club is the sole (or main) determinant.

If this sounds too contrived - go pay a pro.

try opening your club face up(gives you more loft) OR
try taking a better divot(you may be hitting on top of the ball and causing it to skip) OR
try placing the club farther behind the ball(this will give you more room to make a better divot)

a good trick i used to use to make better contact is place a tee right behind the ball and focus there. often, what happens is we stare at the ball and forget we are not trying to hit the ball itself. we are trying to graze the ball as we swing....this is a problem i had and once i got it down, my ball went in the air more.

i wont lie, it took me little less than a year to comprehind this, so goodluck dude!

Some good answers are above mine, so I won't go into swing mechanics.......but if those suggestions don't work, you may want to look at your equipment. When you say you hit it "hard" but not "high", I'm thinking you do make decent contact. You may have a shaft that is way too stiff for your swing speed.

putting the ball higher in your stance is not good for someone who cant get any loft anyway. It's used by pros who need higher loft to clear a tree or they have a small landing area. You might have the 2nd most common flaw. Pulling your head out of your swing early so your arms pull up. Trying looking at Natilie Gulbis's swing, she digs deep in her swing to get lots of loft. Shes also nice to look at anyway lol.

Put the ball farther up in your address. You have it to close to the middle of your downward arc. You need to hit the ball on the upswing.

Use a club with more loft,if you're using a 9.5 go to a 10.5 or even a 12,loft is your friend !
