I fold it.
Scrunching makes it easier to shred and get stuck, then you have to go through this gross production to get it out.
Rolling... well what if it gets stuck on my hand, then I have to unroll it off my hand ewww.
PS: You are not the only one who has such weird arguments.

My husband is really anal about those kinds of things and he rolls it around his hand at least 5 times for each wipe. I personally don't give a crap if it's rolled up all nice and neat. I need to wipe so I grab some tissue and scrunch it up and clean what needs cleaned!

Oddly enough, I recently watched a show that featured odd experiments...one of which was "Which method offers better wetness absorption?" ...scrunching or folding toilet paper
Results:
..........folding performed fairly well
...............scrunching actually provided better protection to keep moisture away from your hands
Now I, a previous paper folder, gather my paper.....scrunch a wad .....then gently fold some sheets over that. What protection!

I use water to wash--toilet paper is not as clean. Many people find toilet paper offensive.
