Buddhist believe you do not need a God-figure to attain liberation from suffering. Self cultivation, self discipline and self realisation is the Buddha's way. The Buddha taught that until the devotee himself is ready and willing to progress on self-advancement, NO God, Angel, Buddha or Spiritual being can MAKE you do it... they can guide you but NEVER force you.

Even after we tread the path, it is all still about self-awareness, in such a situation, whether God is present or not, it wont make a difference.

In Buddhism, its never been about who is higher or lower, Its not exactly like a tower or pyramid hierachy, but more of a round table philosophy where all beings progress under equal footing whether they be High Born or Low Birth. At a Round table there is no "Head of a table", everyone is given an equal voice. So... if God exists in the Buddhist reality, he would be equal to Buddha, to man, to spirit and even to demons.

Buddha is the enlightened one -- a sentient being not God.

Yes, there is a God above Buddha -- Buddhism believes we all have a small part of the "holy spirit" (as they call it in Christianity) that ought to be cleansed of "sins" to be "pure soul/spirit". Once that happens the "pure soul" merges with God and can be treated as part of the God as such. So even though Buddha is not a God, he becomes a part of God, once he attains enlightenment. Then He is no longer caught in living and dying but is eternally in peace inside God.

Makes sense? (See how it matches your faith in the end ;) )

Buddhism is not a faith but a philosophy.

Judaism and Islam worship they same God that we do but they beleive that we as Christians make the Fathet, Son and Holy spirit into 3 separate Gods and so MANY of them -- not all -believe that we are polytheistic rather than montheistic like they are.

Buddhism deals with a spiritual energy , source, soul type of God
The other religions you mention are Gods from other planets... that have visited our planet. If you read each of their bibles with the idea in mind that they are talking about extra terrestrial encounters. Even in the old testament ... there is refference to this in all books but mostly in Ezekiel
The Buddhist religion applies to these beings as well as to us. Interesting enough.. in the meoirs of Napoleon ...when he conquered Egypt ..he was said to have found an alien based religion which he determined that would be a disadvantage to the masses.

Buddha never claimed to be a Prophet or God. He just found out the veritable meaning of life and how to go about ameliorating the same.
