My computer won't sense my digital camera?

Every time I plug in my FE-170 (Olympus) digital camer to my computer to download the pictures, my computer can't tell my camera is plugged in. What's wrong??? Do i have to bring it back?? I just got it

Have you downloaded all the necessary software to your computer?

I would check my connectors, or try to reinstall program for your camera in your PC.
