we got a sanyo plasma, and when we hook up our ps2 to it with the red, yellow, and white cords it comes up being black and white instead of in color... do we need to hook something eles up or are we doing something wrong??

Read the PS2 manual (see link below for a copy if you lost it). Just because PS2 comes with a composite video cable it does not mean you have to use it. Make yourself a favor and buy component cables. At minimum use an S-video cable. The quality will be much better. Make sure also that there is only one set of output video cables out of the PS2

Well it depends.....IF YOU REALLY hooked up using Red, Yellow and White cable to the same color coding on the TV and same colors on the PS2.....Then lack of color would be....Well heck it could be any of the 3 parts of the system....The PS3, the TV or the CABLE......

OR you could have hooked your Yellow wire accidently to a COMPONENT input.....Those alway make the picture black and white

it sounds to me your putting the white-(audio) red-(audio) yellow-(video) into the component inputs on your tv. The component inputs are all video, broken into 3 seperate inputs. You need to make sure your using the basic inputs on the tv for the ps2.

try one of the back inputs ,and also try another cable it may be set up to use componet cables not av cables

sounds as if you have a bad input card, you should try the S-cable and see if it works then.

Make sure all your connections are tight....ours does it sometimes too and it's loose from the console...Good Luck!
