Be your own person and explain that this is who you are. Tell B/F the qualities the ex has that allow you to be able to talk to him.

He insecure about the relationship between you and your ex. What can you talk to your ex about for so long an him? If nothing else comes to mind, then he will think you are talking about him. Nothing makes a guy insecure like being compared to an ex.. If you know how it upsets your bf, then you need to make some compromises and make sure that your husband is comfortable with the relationship you have with your ex.

No man should have to deal with an Ex who is the best friend of their girlfriend. The girlfriends' best friend should be her boyfriend. If he is not, then there is no point in going into a relationship with that man. This man should not have to be put through all of the problems that can come along in that relationship you have with your ex. If you truly care with about your (maybe) boyfriend, you should decide whether or not to have the ex as your best friend, or your boyfriend. If it's your ex, then your boyfriend should not be your boyfriend.

Well, it would be pretty awkward. It's not like this is an exBOYFRIEND, he's an exHUSBAND! Huge difference. I think he has a right to be uncomfortable with it... You two were obviously very close at one time, and even if you have no intention of it getting like that again, it would definitely be frustrating for the "new guy"... It might also look like you can't talk to HIM about everything, which could be a blow to him as well.
