That's 5 pounds a month- totally attainable goal!
Hit the gym 4 times a week and get 40-45 mins of cardio in each session.
Drink lots of water- at least 8 glasses a day. Don't snack. Stick to about 1200 calories per day. Oatmeal/ fruit for breakfast, salads (or a lean cuisine) for lunch, lean meat and veggies for dinner....

That's thirteen weeks. You need to eliminate about 500 calories a day, or so, for 3,500 calories a week, which equals one pound. You can do that through a combination of diet and exercise. I'd recommend working your way up on cardio, maybe 20-30 minutes a day, five days a week, to start, and get to about an hour a day five days a week. For example, each mile you either walk or run is about 100 calories, so if you walk three miles in an hour, or run three miles in half an hour, you burn 300 calories. In addition, you should look for ways to cut some calories a day from what you eat. Perhaps start meals with soup, which will slow you down and help you eat less. Or substitute one salad with about four oz. of meat for lunch or dinner. If you're drinking sodas, switch to diet sodas. Limit alcohol to one time a week, and/or switch to white wine cut with soda water, called a spritzer. You can also try joining weight watchers, either online or through meetings: they give great advice.

I suggest reading about the atkins diet. You can eat as much cheese and meats as you want and you are guaranteed to drop weight. You will lose weight right away, no doubt. Just don't eat anything that has more than a total of 20 carbs per day. I use this diet, the only bad thing is you can gain the weight back quickly if you go back to your regular routine eating habits. But I guarantee that it will work right away. You can read about it online.

Next meal, consider eating one bit less of each food on the plate.
Or two bites less. For One (1) month.
After you get out and start, your Happy Trip, go back to eating just one bite less of each thing on your plate to keep it off.
And just keep doing your regular routine. You will be down to size, whatever, without a pain.
