i enjoy this site and learn a lot here as well as give some insight too. It amazes me at the people that ask questions and then get offended when you answer them lol. If you dont want an answer then dont ask. Furthermore if you come here just to see if everyone is going to agree with you then you didnt want to hear an opinion other than your own and shouldnt have asked in the first place. What does everyone else think? I unlike some will not get offended if you dont agree with me lol, after all hearing others perspectives is what helps us learn new things.

Amber i see what your saying but Im more referring to those that you try to help and they get angry because what your telling them isnt what they want to hear. I understand that everyone wants to be right but none of us are always right and maybe we should all try to see other peoples views more. i am no different, I too shoudl be more open sometimes to hearing things Id rather not hear. I was simply posting this because we all may need to realize how important hearing other views are.

I am with you. I have always be of the thinking, "Don't ask the question if you do not want to know the answer". And human nature being as it is, there will always be somebody who disagrees with you....and that is okay!
If you are only looking for someone to agree with you or say what you want to hear, you are definitely narrowing down your options as you might just hear an alternative that could open your mind to something new and different.
I think some people are full of self-doubt and they do not know how or simply choose not to think for themselves, and therefore will always seek the opinions of others. These same people do not want the responsibility of making a decision and have the circumstances be what they may.
I do not offend if you disagree with me, I embrace the difference and I always appreciate another perspective.

Yup.
I wonder if many people ask questions soon after first arriving & are surprised that their views are not the only ones around. YA mixes people from all over and they range far & wide across the religious, political & sexual spectrum (the 3 topics that seem to incite to most incendiary comments). Wikijo has never felt the need to ask a question: he knows where Wikipedia is.

sometimes it would be upsetting to have people disagree with me, but other times it's a good thing. like i had at one point made a question about how i'm getting the chills about this whole global warming thing and i asked about everyone else. most people told me to calm down and that a lot of things about it r untrue. for that question i was glad that there were people who disagreed with me.
but it's also nice to have people agree with me. there was one person who was scared about death and there were many people respnoding to that. many people said that death was a pretty scary thing to talk about and that u shouldn't think about it too much. i don't know if it helped that person, but i know that it helped me......

That is very true. Know what else annoys me? I take time to thoroughly and correctly answer a question, and then the asker picks THE WRONG ANSWER! And its not like my answer was unverifiable or based on opinion. I am talking about verifiable proof Arrg!

Well, a lot of people really just want you to reinforce thier own opinions, and that's why they ask their questions. That's what it seems like to me.
