My computer is setup to do automatic downloads from Microsoft. Last week the new Explorer 7 was downloaded to me. After installing and rebooting I signed on to my computer and it was about one step faster than frozen. I then un-installed the new ver. and re-installed my orginal software.
MY QUESTION IS : I STILL have the 'install' icon in the lower bar (next to the time) & it keeps asking if I am ready to do the update.
SO HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS ICON??
ALSO, has anyone else done this update and had the same results???
THanks for any and all help!

Click the little shield in the SysTray and when it pops up, select Custom and then uncheck the box - it will prompt you for a response for something like, Do not prompt for install again or something like that. I have IE 7 on all my computers and have had no problems at all with it - yes I am a real geek, I have a total of 8 computers in my house (3 laptops and 5 desktops). All running Windows XP except one which is Win2000. hope this helps...

I absolutely HATED explorer 7....

I'm not sure how to solve your problem, but I wouldn't doubt if Explorer 7 its self its the problem.

I had nothing but problems on both my computers after installing that...Good Luck
