Then again, God usually "spoke" through a High Priest or "Lineage Holder" , and that got me to thinking when we were kids, there a game called "passing the secret message" where we sat in a circle and the "leader" would whisper a secret message to the person on the right, and have them pass it on by whispering. As the message travelled through the circle, with almost 100% certainty by the time it got back to the starting point, the message would have been altered somwhat. Whats to say the messengers themselves didnt make a mistake? Afterall, only God is perfect right? Phophets, Magis, High Priests and such never claimed to be perfect beings and moreover, most of them had hardly any education at all at that time, they were shepherds, fishermen, foragers, farmers who embraced the divine by pure faith alone and nothing else.

If a message can get distorted within minutes of its delivery, what more if its been thousands of years? It is my belief that the original message could have been lost going from ear to ear, lip to lip, print to print. From God yelling joyful praises it could have become God yelling angry phrases.

Mentally people 2000 years ago are quite different from now, their concepts and thoughts were different too... but emotionally, we are all still the same we all need Love, Kindness and Friendship.

I think the reason why Christianity is having such a hard time as time progresses, is that they are still trying to assimilate into an ancient mentality while they were born, bred and raised in our current era. A religious philosophy that doesn't evolve with Time, Culture, Mentality and Space is bound to meet with a lot of STOP signs. A person from the time of Moses in our era would prolly have a heart attack... not even so far back... even someone from 1920s would encounter the same....

I don't know this god you speak of. My God is not this god you speak of. The one you speak of is one you have created to justify your refusal

what you are asking is why I would not accept a lie in place of what I know to be the Truth of God.
