Remember that the score that really matters is the General Technical (GT) Score its composed of the Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, and Paragraph Comprehension. That score as long as in the Army, I don't know how other branches regulate it, you have a GT score of 110 or higher you are eligible to do almost anything from Military Intelligence, Signal, Finance, or Infantry. You can also use it for Special Forces in the Army they require at least a 100 now I think, you can also use it to become a Warrant Officer, of course there are ways around everything in the military. Talk to a recruiter but be careful when talking to those guys.

i joined the navy just over 2 years and i made an 83 and was offered any job i wanted that had an opening in the rate within the next 12 months because you can only be in DEP delayed entry program for 12 months or less and i chose to be a missile tech which i highly recommend if you are interested in the advanced electronics field and submarines.. You can easily be an EOD with an 80 all depending on your background. Consider this as best answer. Email me if you have any other navy questions

The ASVAB is unquestionably on a 0-ninety 9 scale. even nonetheless, to upward push up that top, (I had ninety 8) you ought to be extremely clever. fifty 4 unquestionably finally ends up as a in simple terms under usual score. you ought to get a 30 to unquestionably fail it. even nonetheless, with an ASVAB of fifty 4, i will assure you you're heading directly to Iraq after AIT.

I'm not sure about the score ranges anymore because it's been a long time since I took mine (1983). But remember one thing, if they don't have the training that you want, you have signed all the paperwork to be in the military. You can still say no and go home without any problems.

It's split into four sections, the ASVAB...mechanical, administrative, general and electronics. See if your score in one of those areas is high enough to get you the job you want. Hint, recruiters try to steer you into jobs that have immediate openings, they have openings because they suck.

A lot of it depends on the rest of the areas of the test as far as what you'll qualify for, that number represents the math and reading areas, and whats available when you join.
