why do people esp. christians constantly feel they have to "talk god up" or stick up for god ? if god is all knowing and all powerful then god can stick up for itself right? if you believe god cannot then you must believe your god is imperfect and what sort of a god needs help from mortal beings? an IMPERFECT God, correct? god doesn't need a pr firm, why can't people just worship and be quiet about it, you all don't want us up in heaven with you anyway us "heathens" and if you are so good why would you brag about you are going to heaven and we are not? is that behavior WORTHY of heaven? sounds more like one of the 7 deadly sins to me... pride (vanity, narcissism),
and if you do not like us are you not guilty of the sin of wrath?(anger, hatred, prejudice, discrimination) just cause you believe in jesus does that excuse bad behavior on your part> Kinda like why you go to church on Sunday after being sinful, prideful, greedy, prejudiced etc all week long?

i think you're mostly right but asking the question to believers is like trying to ask a dog to drive you to the hospital during an emergency.

Later:

Nice job, I feel the same way, its like we get a bad deal, they say if we want to go to heaven we have to believe in god, but what kind of god would force you to believe him? I believe along time ago when the church had political power they added it to gain more power, and wealth. And man are SOME Christians ridiculous! I guess you could call me a catholic(although I don't truly believe, weather that makes me a catholic still I don't know, or really care). I don't go to church that often(when I do, I go on holidays with family). My sister is always trying to give me a bible, and telling me how I will suffer for eternity if I don't believe! I say there is afterlife, an actual god? Sounds like more of a symbol, to sum it all up for the insecure human mind. Once again nice question. But now I must ask why does it matter?

why post the question and look for an answer if it doesn't matter; why does it burn you up so; seems like someone who doesn't care sure knows a lot about a religion that doesn't exist as you say; sounds to me that you have a heart that is seeking even if your smart brain is trying to convince you otherwise; a struggle is a struggle whether in you or in the world; do you have children? a parent loves unconditionally is disappointed at times; tries to give you room to grow and learn on your own; gets mad when you do something stupid or wrong; forgives you when you run to them ; helps you when you ask ; not all people hate ; we are children of God on the path to learn until the day that all men are judged; God doesn't need us he loves his children that he has created like a Mom and Dad loves their child. To keep a good thing to our self is selfish and greedy as you put it ; God is never imperfect; we have the right to speak as you have the choice not to listen. Why does it burn you so if it isn't real or IS IT!

You need to stop believing your own lies. You have no reason to be so bitter of Christians. Christians are not bad at all , and I am sure you know that.
You really need to examine your heart and understand yourself and why you feel the way you do, it has nothing to do with Christians. What it is in my opinion, is the natural hate that comes from man, since the beginiing, we see it all over the world, people killing other people, hating other people. You are no exception. The bible has a commandment from which I learned that I had evil in my own heart, simply because of the fact it was there, it taught me that people don't always have a reason to hate or dislike, they just do, and then later they invent the reasons.
If you can believe this, that you are a sinner and unjust man, that you hate people for no reason too, then you will have saved yourself from much error. Judge an honest judgement
That scripture says" You shall not hate your brother without cause" The fact that it taught me that a person can actually hate without a cause but simply because of the evil in his heart, it made me examine my own heart and fear to find such a perverse unexplainable unfairness and wickedness in me, unjust hatreds in it and desire truth to cleanse my most inward parts, O God wash me from this filthiness and create in me a clean righteous heart O God.
I think you hate Christians unjustly and because you are just a follower of the fashionable irreligion and deviancy of todays society. Beware for the good of your own soul
I do not want you to hate because of the sin it is for you, I am not so worried about what your opinion is about me. Though it truthfully saddens me. I just hope you can see it and take care of it by crying out to God in simple confidence that you are not a product of evolution but God.In Jesus name.

I care. And you're gonna care to when you die, you either go to heaven or hell. It sounds like your not a christian, so your probably not going to go to heaven, but you can change that. I don't know how old you are or what your background is, but even if your 85 and almost done with your life, if you ask God into your heart, and you tell Him you want to be a Christian, you can go to heaven when you die and live forever. God wants to save as many people as possible, but the reason He doesn't just make all of us go to heaven when we die is because He didn't make a bunch of robots. We don't brag and say we're going to heaven, anyone can go if they want to. Even Christians sin, all Christians sin. I've sinned a lot in my life, but once in a while I'd pray to God to forgive me, and he does. No matter how bad my sin is, he'll still forgive me and let me go to heaven. Christians aren't actually that bad, and God would welcome you if you wanted to become a Christian. Maybe you should take that into consideration.

God does not need anyone to talk him up. As a Christian, I genuinely care about others. I want all of my friends to experience the joy I have experienced as a Christian. Before I was a Christian, I was much more bitter and everything was all about me. I am so much happier now, I just want to share that with others. I am learning a lot about atheists, agnostics and other religions on this site. I am starting to see that no matter how good my intentions are, my Christian experience is not something that others want to hear about.

By the way, I don't dislike you.

your reasoning is rather poor and you are blinded to the truth by your godless thoughts.
Many people care that there is a God who they love, worship and have a personal relationship with.
Just because YOU do not believe in God does not mean that God is not real.....
it only means that you do not believe it.
"The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned."
1 Corinthians 2:14 (New International Version)
"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;
but unto us that are saved it is the power of God."
1 Corinthians 1:18

i let people know what i believe and that God loves them. yes God is powerfull but if you believe the Bible then you would also know that as a christian the Bible says to not be ashamed of God and to share the word with everyone. i just dont get why people will argue though. i believe you let people and friends and everyone know what you believe and leave it with that and not argue. if they want to know more then they will come to you and ask for more. i have it happen a lot and people respect me more often cause i dont argue and they see how my life is. and if there is a God or not that is a big thing. as a christian it is trying to win souls to God and get people to beable to live an eternal life. and not in hell. if God does not exist then what is our purpose here. for me if he does not exist i am still happy with my life now. and ok i die and that is it and i lived a good and happy life. however if he does exist then i am saved and going to live in heaven for eternaty with a mansion. and i am living my life according to the word.

Well, in filtering through your rant I had to choose a question to answer so I'll answer the first one. I care that there is a God. He opens a new dimension to life that is exciting, infinite, and transforming...some "caterpillars" are called to be "butterflies". We can't help it. And then we have the inclination to let other ones know that something more is possible.

Well duh. We don't want to go to hell. We want to learn to love others to have a tender affectionate heart. Yes we can be dreadfully sinful in the eyes of others, forgive us and be careful that you don't fall into the trap of pride yourself because you did and therefore consider yourself more righteous because of it. Our arrogance is in great contrast to the humility of God as shown through Jesus. That's why we are all sinners in need of a savior, all of us. Go to Jesus and you can recieve freedom.

You are so full of hate and prejudice that you wouldn't listen to anyone, or recognize the truth. Never the less, God loves you and so do I.
