because people have very little self control. if you're going to be a part of something, be the best you can be. I hear all this talk from christians saying "we're not perfect, we make mistakes too". okay, a mistake is misfiguring your checkbook, not giving the cashier enough money to pay for your purchases, or having a car accident. however, when it comes to being mean to people, lack of patience, selfishness, adultery, backstabbing, murder, stealing, and other acts against humanity, those are not mistakes. Those are intentional acts against another person.

I think you know in advance that committing certain acts are against religious teachings. so committing those acts show a blatant disregard for others and whatever god you worship. that's what makes you a hypocrite and that's why people don't take you seriously.

The question is this: do you live up to the true expectations of your religious teachings?

Yes I do...but I question your walk of love while your your judging and calling everyone who reads your question to be a hypocrite. With questions asked in the tone of voice that you have asked, I doubt that very many will be taking you very seriously.

A good rule of thumb for you and I is this: If your gonna be pointing a finger at me, you have three fingers of your own pointing back at you. PEACE!!!

**Your self indulgence of drinking has evidently altered the clarity of your mind. Thats a good reason not to drink whether religious or not. PEACE!!!

I don't know if I live up to them, but every day I try to improve myself and the world even if only a tiny bit. Some days I succeed, some days I don't. Your remarks with the follow up question tells me you are confusing the behaviors of groups with those of individuals. You are right, murder and mayhem are not mistakes in the bookkeeping sense of the word. It is used in a more cosmic, karmac sense. It's hard to ignore the suffering and hatred in the world, but you can take care of your little corner. Keep it tidy, keep it honest, keep it open, and look around for all the good and wondrous gifts God has given us. By seeking out the good you will have less time and energy for the negative. God Bless and good luck...

uhhh...I think I'm lost. What does drinking have to do with religious teachings??
I must have little self-control because I'm drinking a glass of wine right now because I just spent the afternoon with my sister-in-law.

You don't need a drink. What you need is a glassfull of understanding and trying to get along with others.
