The notion of disaster striking the earth and a male and female from every species being spared. Do you fully believe when the Bible claims the need will never arise again. Or do you think this may be a lesson for us to be prepared in the face of disaster.

This story tells us, that the people who lived at that time were so sinful, that God destroyed them to cleanse the Earth. God sent a flood. Yes, I believe this will happen again, but in the form of fire. All signs lead to this. The Global warming. If this continues, the Earth temperatures will rise. The inner core of the Earth consists of Molten rock. With the increase of heat from the sun, and no water or moisture, the heat penetrating from the inside and out, will cause the earth to dry up and burn.
With the increase of heat, the core could explode . Or the dried up Earth could go into a spin, either twords the sun, or into outer darkness. Many people don't believe, just like in the days of Noah. So I don't think people will get the clue, until it all starts to happen. There will be no chance to prepare. When it happens, we will be trying to figure out ways , mainly to survive. Hopefully , the Earth is doing the same it has off and on, for centuries. Changes of weather. Some winters are mild and some are cold and severe. So we don't know . But God promised never to send a complete flood, but I believe it will be by fire.

I fully believe the rainbow covenant promised the earth would not be destroyed again through a flood, but not through other means. Yes, it is a lesson to be ready for the second coming of Jesus Christ and the end of time and of this world as we know it. The only ones spared will be a few righteous people who will not worship or take the name or number of the beast who is against Christ and will decieve many who do not have their names written in the Lamb's book of Life. I do know that one day the lions will lie beside the lambs during the millenial reign in a new earth. There's a new heaven and new earth but I don't believe earth will subsitute for heaven.

Yes and no. Jesus often talked obout the flood of Noah and every time He mentioned it He did so as if it were fact not a story.
I don't believe that this will ever happen again because God said He would never again destroy the earth with a flood, and last I checked He is not a liar.
But I do feel that there is an important message in this account for us in this day and age, that is that just as God delieverd Noah and his son's and their wives, He will also deliver His chosen ones from the time of tribulation that will come on all the earth.
Blessings

Well, the Book of Revelation shows that there will ultimately be widespread destruction of mankind, together with all manner of natural disasters, before the new Heaven and the new earth take over. I think that the story of Noah is a story of faith (a man being obedient enough to carry out instructions to build an elaborate sea going vessel despite living inland) and aso a story full of symbolism (what is known as a "typos") of the salvation of mankind by taking refuge not on a boat but on the rock of salvation, which is Christ. Of course we are required to be fully prepared, but not necessarily for flooding. Some of us have to take precautionary measures every year against such things as hurricanes and this is common sense.

God only said that he would not destroy the entire world at one time again.

What the flood is really about, IMHO is God chose those who were faithful to Him, and kept them safely while He destroyed every living creature on the earth, other than the ones that He Himself put on the ark.

When God finds it necessary to bring global catastrophe upon the world again, he will keep His people safely while He destroys all those who wage war against Him.

How will that catastrophe manifest itself.
1. He will strike the green grass and a third of the trees. This will cause a shortage of carbondioxide/oxygen conversion. Men will be gasping for air, making every effort expended to make them winded.
2. He will cause a third of all sea life to die, and a third of all ships to be destroyed. That will cause a reduction in seafood, and slow down the transportation of food products from one part of the globe to another.
3. He will poison the rivers and streams. This will make it impossible to get the liquid into our systems that we need, and all mankind will be thirsty continuously.
4. He will darken the sun, and the moon, and the stars, for a third of the day and a third of the night. This will cause the temperatures to drop drastically. It will also make night vision much more difficult.
5. He will release upon man a plague that will not kill but will make man want to die.
6. He will allow a great army to kill a third of all mankind.

How many of you that are reading this right now, would like to live through that time, or would you like to be given safety like Noah and his family were?

It means that even 3000 years ago there was plagerism. Read the Epic of Gilgamesh. There is a story there very similiar to the story of Noah. Except instead of a rainbow as the promise, the promise was in the form of a diamond necklace in the sky (the Milky Way).
There are other similiar stories in other Middle Eastern texts. Some feel the story came about when the Black Sea flooded and the story was passed down verbally thru the generations until writing developed. The flooding of the Black Sea would have been one of the most monumental floods of all time and man was there to see it.

The lesson is.... that the Lord will not tolerate a wicked world. The times of Noah when the Lord flooded the earth were so wicked, but guess what.. we are MORE wicked NOW.

He warned the people over and over and he spoke to a PROPHET to warn the people who would listen to a leader of the Lord. The people failed. Even Noahs own family members outside his own immediate family. Noone else listened to this prophet of the Lord.

We have a prophet here today. We are called to repentance and he directs us and tell us what we should know to do.

The Lord is coming and not before destruction of the wicked takes place. It is coming... and I can feel it.

The lesson is.. he CAN do it and he WILL do it, he already did once.

Out of everyone on the earth only 7 I think it was were saved on that ship. Noone listened. They were a wicked people. But again, we are worse!!

Well, the answers to these questions are found in the Bible. The story of Noah's Ark is told in Genesis, and it is related as an actual event in history. It is described in great detail, in fact. The reality of this historical event is verified by the fact that many other cultures dating back to that time testify of a similar event. The promise that the Lord God gave to Noah (sealed withthe rainbow) is that He would never again destroy the earth "with water." He didn't say that He would never destroy the earth again. Just not by means of a flood (Genesis 9:11-13).

The Lord Jesus used this real event as an example and a warning pertaining to the times just ahead of us. In Matthew 24:37-39, He said that just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be when He returns to this earth. He has instructed us to be ready for Him when He returns, and to look for His coming.

In the story of the Ark, the people of that time were living in great sin, and were mocking Noah for building a boat. They thought that was the stupidest thing. But the day that the rains came, and the flood washed all of their homes out, and they were desperate to survive, they beat upon the outside of the Ark to be rescued - but it was too late for them. Jesus said that it would be the same in the time of His return. There are many people (many of them in this answers forum) who scoff, and mock God and mock those who believe Him - mocking the ones that prepare themselves for Christ's return. They think they are really smart, and that we are all very stupid and deceived. But most of those people are going to find themselves shut outside of the Ark of safety, and it will be too late for them.

You see, God often has done things throughout history that not only serve a purpose for the moment, but also is prophetic in some way - making an illustration for future generations regarding a larger truth. This is an instance of that. Noah's Ark is a prophetic warning regarding the end of the world. Jesus is the Ark of safety, and the people who believe upon Him and confess His name as Lord and Savior are typified by the animals that were gathered into the Ark of safety.

I think it is both. After the flood God placed a rainbow in the sky as a sign of the covenent between Himself and Noah and as a promise that this will never happen again. But it also sends the message that by following God's will, you will always be prepared in the face of disaster.

The bible says that the earth is reserved for destruction by fire in the last days. God said the rainbow was a promise that He would not flood the earth again. But there are many prophecies of the end times and God's judgment of earth and all who inhabit earth.
